"Pousada Costa Verde was a nice stay on Ilha Grande. It was very clean and well maintained (though this is because of very strict rules, so if you're intent is to party, this is not the spot for you). The manager is super nice and provides a lot of great advice based on your expectations of your trip. The pousada is off the beaten path and does not come with breakfast like other pousadas on the mainland do."

"It was a really cool place to stay. Right on their own private beach! The staff were friendly and helpful. Don’t speak English but Google translate is a blessing. We had a free breakfast and lunch which was awesome! The room had a lot of character and the kitchen and bar are open reasonably late. Wish it had an air conditioner, and our room was right by a communal area with no noise proofing. And we had to pay for the beach towels which was weird. "The Pousada looks nice and cozy at first but the rooms are more than disappointing. When entering the pousada we were offered a room with mould all over the ceiling. We immediately complained about it and were offered the room next to the previous one. This room didn‘t show mould but it was repainted only shortly before, as the smell was still in it. We believe, that there was nothing done against the mould, as in some parts, you could still see it. In addition to this, there was a lot of hair...

"We had an amazing week stay! The house accommodated comfortably 20 adults and 4 children. The gourmet area located by the beach is the high point as we all got together during the day and until late at night. The house staff I don’t have enough words to describe them. Maria, Tânia, Marcos, Gabriel and Fatima Thank you so much for all that was done to accommodate all our needs❤️!!! The only improvement that I can suggest is a dryer, due to the large amount of towels, linen and beach clothes...

Great stay at Asalem

"Asalem is a great place to relax. Very friendly, great views, quiet. Problem for people that have issues with stair climbing as located on a hill and to get to rooms steep stairs have to be dealt with. Bungalows are beautiful and on 2 levels. To get to main bedroom again steep staircase. Bathroom is on lower floor so if you have to get up at night starir case awaits to get to bathroom. Besides the stairs the hotel is great. You have to take ship from Concecao 15 mins or from angra dos reis 50 mins to abraao on the island a d call hotel for boat pickup as you cannot walk to hotel with heavy luggage. The hotel boat could be better. I rate the stay as excellent as the views, the friendliness of the personnel and the hiking and beach options are really great"

"A very nice hotel in Angra. Valet parking was a real plus. Breakfast options were plentiful, and the topmost floor had a lot of space to hang out or work. The area offered a wide variety of dining options within walking distance. Despite the name Angra Beach Hotel, it is not located by the beach, but it offers a free daily pass to a very nice beach in the Ilha da Jipoia. I will stay at this hotel again if I am ever back in Angra."
