Rustic, Artsy & Cozy Getaway Cabin in Laurel Highlands- minutes from Ligonier

Rustic and charming getaway in the Laurel Highlands. Enjoy country surroundings 3 miles from downtown Ligonier and all its wonderful shops and restaurants.

Renovated, contemporary kitchen, gas fireplace and wood burning stove, sunny sunroom and rustic fire pit are a few of the amenities that will make you feel welcome. Rolling hills and wildlife surround this built-into the hillside cabin.

Newly added (June 2023) second floor bathroom with shower and window view of rolling hills has been very popular with guests. We also added a washer dryer on first floor which makes the cabin a complete dream spot to enjoy.

Gourmet style kitchen for hanging out or preparing a meal. If you like to cook, you’ll find a large selection of pots and pans, serving pieces and ceramic dishware. Plenty of water and wine glasses and assorted other kitchen items such as waffle maker, blender and coffee press.

Beautiful deck-porch off the sun room at the lower level is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the view and peace and quiet of the countryside. Great place for morning coffee too.

2 nice sized bedrooms, recently painted and finished with excellent beds and bedding.
Extra sleeping available - Two twin blow up mats always available. i
Cabin decor is an eclectic mix of furniture- antiques, thrift shop finds and interesting artwork and artifacts. "rustic!"

The cozy sunroom is a combination living room and dining area that is the favorite place to hang. Nine windows give you a birds eye view to the woods, mountains, fields and meadows. The gas fired ‘wood’ stove heats up at the flip of a switch and keeps it toasty and cozy. In the kitchen the cast iron wood stove is available to enjoy a real woodburning fire.

Industrial style staircase leads from the upper level to the lower level entrance, complete with flowering garden on each side. Where this cool welded hunk of metal staircase came from, we don't know, but we love it and it is a favorite spot to sit.

The surrounding area is filled with many activities and areas to explore when Snow season is here!

Enjoy skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, or sitting in the lodge and enjoying the view at the major snow attractions in the area.

Area ski and snow resorts include Seven Springs, Laurel Mountain, and Hidden Valley. All are easily accessible and offer many family activities for enjoying the beautiful seasons.

The town of Ligonier is 3 easy miles away with its many restaurants and charming shops. The Diamond is the gazebo and small park at the center of town that is beautifully decorated for the holiday and winter as well as year round.

Enjoy hiking and relaxing at the beautiful Linn Run sate park, only 15 minutes away.

ALSO NOTE
Please note that the cabin front is very close to a low traffic Wilpen road. We have had many guests with small children stay as well as pets and this hasn't been an issue but wanted to point it out clearly.

Please also note that the cabin is built into a hillside so there are steps to navigate. If you or anyone in your party has climbing or navigating stairs as an issue, please check pictures before you book. Bedrooms are on upper level with stairs to the lower level kitchen, sunroom, bathroom.

Pets are welcome- you will be charged a $50.00 fee when booking. We ask that you keep pets contained in a crate (condo:) if left unattended. Also, we provide extra sheets for furniture and bed covering if your pet is on these pieces. Please clean up and keep pet hair to minimum. You will be charged for additional cleaning if necessary. Thank you for your understanding.

Autumnal Welcome in Laurel Highlands
We had a great time at the cabin. Close to Ligonier and lots of hiking and family friendly outings. Space was perfect for our family. Two bathrooms and two bedrooms made it easy for adult and child. Highlight was watching the sunset and eating s'mores at the cabin. Cabin has easy parking, really comfortable space, and was well situated to get to all the the things. Wonderful communication from the hosts. We would stay here again if in the area.

Cozy
We had a great time. The cabin was cozy and well stocked. They even thought of our dog by leaving him treats to enjoy and Pooh bags if we needed them. There is lots of hiking in the area. Great food options and breweries to explore. And the king size bed was super comfy, with comfy pillows.

Cute cottage/well equipped kitchen
Enjoyed our stay and appreciated the thoughtful stocked kitchen. Beds and linens nice/comfy. Nice bathrooms with amenities. Living room furniture could use updating to something more comfy. No real place to walk dogs or let them run around property as it’s owned by neighboring farm. Road is also closer to front of house than we had imagined but we did alright. Very charming place and nice for a couple. Great hiking 15-20 minutes away at Linn Run State Park.

A great stay for Memorial Day Weekend
We had a great stay over Memorial Day weekend to kick off our summer. The cabin was exactly as described, with some renovations going on that the hosts made sure to warn us about, so no surprises there. The kitchen had all the amenities we needed, and the lower level bathroom looks recently done, with another bathroom on the upper floor in the works. The hosts were very friendly and made sure we felt welcome, and gave us tips on things to try in the region. If you're staying over the weekend and want to try Wyldfire Bread, be sure to preorder on Thursday afternoon; when I checked their website Friday morning, everything was already sold out. The only thing to keep in mind is that the hill the cabin is built on is pretty steep. There are stairs from the lower parking area all the way to the porch, with a landing at the lower level. I'd recommend taking luggage and such in through the front door, it leads straight to the bedrooms and you don't have to haul everything up the hill. This was a great stay for us!

Weekend getaway
We stayed at the cozy cabin for a long weekend in January. The cabin was clean and very cozy. Our daughter loved the sunroom where she was able to play. She also loved that they had s’mores for her! Lenor responded fast to all of our questions and any small issue we had. She also allowed us to check in early and check out late which made it really nice for us! We can't wait to stay again!

Exactly What We Wanted
Perfect cabin for our family of 4. We stayed for a New Year's ski vacation and the property is an easy drive to both Laurel Mountain and 7 Springs. Very comfortable and communication with the owner was fantastic. They provided local recommendations and responded quickly to questions. Everything we needed was easily accessible throughout the home. Highly recommend.

Cozy home-away-from-home
This was the perfect bolthole for us during a week when we needed to be in and around Latrobe. Tom and Lenor have thought of everything and provide so many little touches to ensure that your stay is comfortable and convenient. The sunroom at the back was our favorite place to hang out. Parking was a little challenging, and the gravel trucks going up and down the track out the back were sometimes noisy, but we loved having Ligonier so close.

Great little cabin on a hill
My family (me, wife, 9 yo daughter, and 6 yo son) really enjoyed our stay. The weather was gloomy, but the cabin was cozy. We loved hanging out in the sun room/family room. The kids played lincoln logs, colored in the coloring books with all of the crayons (provided) and we watched the Browns beat Denver! The cabin is an easy drive to Fort Ligonier - which we really enjoyed, Volunteer docent Gene was amazing - Litt Run state park, and Idlewild. All of which we enjoyed. The beds were great, we even snuggled up and watched Willie Wonka on our last night there. The gas stove in the sun room throws good heat, and the cabin has everything you need. Shops and restaurants, and bowling too, in Ligonier make this a special little town. Would definitely recommend this cabin!
