Nagambie/Goulburn Weir River Cottage

This 1 bedroom river cottage has been fully renovated and is a mere 90 minutes drive from the Melbourne CBD. It is bright and airy and the views down to the river are stunning. The cottage has direct access to the lovely Goulburn River. There is queen bed, all amenities are renovated with a kitchenette and balcony overlook the river. The cottage has been set up similar to a luxurious motel room. THIS IS STRICTLY A NON SMOKING COTTAGE, cleaning fees may apply if this request is ignored.

This house is situated on the Goulburn River with absolute river frontage and a jetty.

The house is about 400 metres upstream from the Goulburn Weir. The weir is a very popular tourist attraction and well worth a visit. The Goulburn Weir, is Australia's oldest major irrigation structure and an engineering marvel of its time. The weir has been awarded international heritage status. There is a pedestrian walkway across the weir so visitors can take in and experience all the facility has to offer.

**** Swimming, canoeing and lazing about the river is a highlight. But there is a strict policy of no diving or jumping from the jetty or bank due to unforeseen changes within the river. It is better to be safe than sorry!! ****

The Nagambie/Goulburn Weir region is famous for its lake, wineries, thoroughbred industry and river system. The great Black Caviar has been immortalised in a statue in the centre of Nagambie overlooking the lake.

For those who like their fishing this is the spot for you. This part of the river has no ski boats. There is a large amount of natural structure and the river is tranquil and peaceful. There is a private jetty and boat ramp on the premises.

As we live on the premises, one of us will greet you personally. If we are not available to greet you, alternative arrangements will be made.

We reside on the property in a completely separate house. We are always just a phone call away.

The house has a minimum booking of 2 nights over a weekend and 3 nights over a long weekend.

We are flexible for mid week bookings.

If you are wishing to book for periods of 5 days or more, let us know and we can work out a better daily rate.

Our area is a lovely quite community. We encourage people to enjoy their stay but please respect the lovely area you are staying at.

I arrived late at night at the property and was welcomed so nicely by Lois and Mick! They are so accommodating and went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of my stay was taken care of (even offering me transportation!) Lovely cottage, very quiet in a beautiful spot, only a short car trip away from the lake , shops and restaurants .Lois was really lovely and was there to welcome us on arrival and always ready to assist. Very friendly people! The place was spotless and had all what we needed for our 2 day stay, including some beautiful details such as some homemade yummy biscuits.The bathroom was lovely and the shower amazing! A perfect spot for a relaxing weekend away- view of the water from the cottage, which was very nicely appointed with everything that we needed. Lois and Mick made the process very simple, even finding out information about opening hours of eating places nearby. (Can also recommend eating at Nagambie Brewery and Distillery, and Harvest Home at Avenel).

Expectations well and truly exceeded!
It such a pleasure meeting Lois and Maggie on arrival and we were made to feel at home straight away. The cabin was beautiful, well appointed and quite roomy with well thought out features and every need catered for. The property was lovely and has a beautiful lake frontage with it’s on pier. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Lois even went out of her way to save us when we found ourselves in a pickle, not many people left in this World that would be so thoughtful. Cannot recommend a stay here enough.

Perfect location!!
Lois and Mick were absolutely delightful and so welcoming to us, it almost makes us sad that we have to say goodbye to them! The cabin overlooks the lake and is just in the most serene location with everything that you need close by! For those who enjoy fishing this is definitely a place for you! We caught massive yellow bellies on the Goulburn river and have had a fun time doing so! This is definitely a location we want to come back to, not only to see mick and Lois but because it is so peaceful and is an escape from day to day life! Thank you for having us!!
