"Kind staff, phenomenal location, and beautiful room! It’s located a short walk away from main shopping streets as well as Nara Park. It did not bother me however it’s worth mentioning that there are multiple bathrooms to share between the guests and the walls are very thin so sounds other make can be heard easily. However, when next in Nara, I will certainly stay here again!"

"I particularly chose the Mikado for being good value for money and there's a hot bath and sauna downstairs. They have specific hours for men and women use, but it worked for me. I stayed in a traditional Japanese futon bedroom for first four nights of my stay and a standard single bedroom for the last two nights. "This is the best Hostel to book on any budget. Since it is also a cafe the interior is upper nice and modern looking. As in the name, the interior is all made of wood and has that amazing wood smell that makes you feel so welcomed and at peace. The boy at the counter was super helpful and great at guiding me through the check in/ check out process. "The place is clean, the bedrooms are spacious, the common rooms are cozy, the showers are high pressure, and the staff were very friendly. The only complaint is that the house dog situation was, for the time that I was there, a little concerning. They were quite vocal and unfriendly for the most part, apparently because they were in heat. I believe the staff when they say it's not always like that. But overall I greatly enjoyed Guest House Matsu so much that I kept wanting to spend time there...
