"This is the 3rd year in a row that we have visited which soeak for itself. This is an absolute gem and we were lucky to see the Nothern Lights 2 days in a row from the hot tub. The only things that would make it even better is if the outside lights were on a sensor so that you can enjoy the lights even more. "The room and bathroom were relatively small but worked for us. We did not like the hot tubs and they were not warm enough, only 38C. Sauna was ok. We enjoyed the breakfast, good selection and good coffee."

"We were here in October 2017. Hotel was nice, had a shared kitchen that we didn't use. Can walk to a few restaurants nearby. There was a hot tub that was shared as well. We only stayed one night so we didn't try it out. It was a little difficult to find the place, and once we did we weren't sure about the parking situation. But we figured it out. The place was nice and clean. Would stay here again."

Great location for a base in Reykjavik

"A couple of salient points to add to my review from last week: the room was warm but not as oppressively so. The bed was soft but not as ridiculously so. Overall the stay was therefore more comfortable. I discovered that the hotel can be accessed from both front and back by an alley which runs beneath a glass fronted staircase linking two parts of the hotel. From Grettisgata, where you can park on street, you are looking for an area of disabled parking set back from the street with steps down to the alley, which is covered by a glass fronted strip of building. Parking on street here is limited to 3 hour sections and is not charged 9pm-9am (10am at weekends). This time I was offered coffee or hot water for tea at breakfast. This filter coffee was part of the free breakfast, but cappuccino etc. was chargeable. "

"The hotel staff are very friendly and attend to guests needs quickly. The food is excellent and the chef produced excellent evening meals. Rooms are big and the bathroom had both bath and shower so you could soak out the cold after a day out. Hotel is just outside city centre but public transport is easy to use."
