Guest Access:
Guests staying at 334 Bluefish #1 would have access to the laundry room, which is shared with the other unit in the building. Additionally, guests can enjoy the outdoor seating area and play area, which are perfect for taking in the views or spending time with loved ones. The private beach area and dock are also available for guest use, providing a tranquil escape for swimming, boating, and sunbathing.
The Neighborhood:
It's a quiet neighborhood, full of locals and tucked in between the intercoastal Santa Rosa Sound and the Gulf of Mexico. The beach is a 2 min walk following the boardwalk across the street. This property is attached to the Okaloosa Island Beach Access #1 Boardwalk that goes directly to the Gulf of Mexico's beautiful sugar-white warm sandy beach and the intercostal waterway near the Brooks Bridge. The Santa Rosa Sound is a minute or two on the opposite side, also connected to the boardwalk. Okaloosa Island is known for less crowded beaches and is about 10-15 min from Destin depending on traffic. This neighborhood is located near restaurants, bars, etc.
Getting Around:
Guests staying at 334 Bluefish #1 can easily get around by car, bike, or foot. The townhouse comes with two dedicated parking spots, and there are also additional guest parking spaces available. Okaloosa Island is a small island and it's easy to navigate by bike or foot. There are several bike rental companies in the area. The island also has a trolley service that runs during the summer months, providing guests with easy access to the island's many attractions. Additionally, ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft are available in the area.
Other Things to Note:
Due to being on an island with a tropical climate, there are tropical insects, amphibians, fish, etc. The space is treated regularly for pests however, you may come across a palmetto bug, wood roach, American roach, Ceratopogonidae (no-seams), mosquitos, termites, etc. During storms, we tend to find that insects can and will invade spaces to get away from the rain. While we do take precautions to keep these critters out, it is sometimes out of our control as this is the environment in which we live. The property is located very close to the water — snakes such as water moccasins are seen on occasion, especially near rocks and such, please make sure you are aware of your surroundings. Swimming in the bay there are a variety of aquatic species that can cause harm, swim at your own risk.
