"Had a great week in st Croix! The hotel on the cay was exactly as described in the reviews. Beautiful beach with beach bar and an excellent location next to the Christiansted boardwalk! The hotel is in disrepair and poorly maintained, which is why the nighty rates are low. If you can live with your room having issues (our AC went down), then it’s a great location at a discount."

"We were so happy to return to the Grapetree! The staff is so friendly and supportive to your needs. Everyone greets you with a smile. The rooms have a wonderful view of the bay with the sounds of waves calming you through the day. The rooms are airy and bright and very clean. The dining options give you a little of everything but again great service and delicious options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. "

"I liked how the property had a huge historical background. I also liked how it was a short walk to many shops and restraunts. The stairs only was a little tough, and the shower had some water pressure issues but it was expected for an old building."

"This is ideally a quiet location, you will need a vehicle, and the host is very responsive. The bathroom was small, but there were over 20 other condos, so I can only mention where I stayed."

"We just returned yesterday from a perfect 5 day stay. We were continuously greeted by wonderful front desk staff who always made us feel welcome, and feel at home. From morning one, we started to meet other guests, some who come back every year, and it immediately starts to feel like a little community. Wonderful staff led by Ted, and Chris, who you would see circulating throughout the property daily, and who both stopped by to say a warm hello to us multiple times, and check in to ensure we were comfortable, and ask if we needed anything. This is a special touch of true hospitality that you will not get at just any hotel. Beautiful grounds where we always felt safe. The morning offerings of fruit, and juice were perfect for us. We always had a piece a fruit to put in our beach bag to start off the day. So convenient to Frederiksted, we were able to walk out to perfect beaches for snorkeling, and down the street to great restaurants, and dive shops where we rented gear, and walked out to, and dove some of our best dives ever, including the Frederiksted pier. Other great excursions nearby including horseback riding on the beach, and into the rain forest. All the activities we came to do were all right nearby. We couldn't have asked for a better first stay on St Croix. We have already talked about coming back again for more diving, and we can't think of anywhere else we would like to stay than Sand Castle on the Beach. Book this hotel!!!"
