"The house was great. Very cozy and the view over the pond with the birds flying in was so peaceful. Perfect for a family, easy location very convienent to Nola and Slidell. Playgrounds in the neighborhood are awesome too. Host was excellent! Will be back for sure!"

"While the property was beautiful and quiet, it was not all as it appeared on the listing. The outdoor kitchen area was very rundown and weathered. There were utensils that were dirty and corroded, the Keurig was not functional, and one of the railings on the back porch was rotted and unsafe. Other that that, the Property was very beautiful and cozy. The beds were comfortable and there was many amenities. We did enjoy our stay.property "

"When our daughter called to tell us that she and her fiance had decided to get married on a Friday in City Park, we immediately began making plans for our stay. After booking our stay at "Golden Flake" in the Plum Orchard section of East New Orleans, we were contacted by the property manager with all of the pertinent information we would need for our stay. "This was an absolutely nice relaxing place. The owner had fishing rods and nice outside bar. It was spotless and the owner was very helpful. You can ride to the city and come back to quiet and calm by the water"

"This home was perfect for our new year vacation. It is easy to do all the New Orleans city stuff and then retreat to the peaceful water side home. Owner was very helpful when we had trouble turning on the outdoor lights. He even offered suggestions for places to get dinner. We hope to return when the weather is warmer for fishing and water fun. "This was a beautiful property. Everything was extremely clean and the home was stocked well with things one might need. There were fishing rods and even bait which my teens enjoyed using from the end of the dock. After busy days, exploring New Orleans and walking the city it was wonderful to come back to a quiet place and sit on the dock or even the porch. It is truly a getaway but because of that, it is drive to get just about anywhere. Great stay and fantastic communication. "

"Its location is great. You have many thing to do in the local area and New Orleans is just down the road. It is very spacious. Below is why I rated 4 star CONS: This place does not have an oven just stove top. Make sure to call your host 5 days in advance and have all moth balls removed. We all got headaches the first day and was removing bags of moth balls. We got most out and were to tolerate the smell our last two days"

"Let me start with the good. The place was very nice. It was clean and modern and looked just like the pictures. We had 5 adults and 7 children and everyone had a bed to sleep in. It was a short 10 minute drive to bourbon street and all the fun locations. Now the not so good. the listing did advertise that there is a hot tub and there was not. Also the listing makes it seem like you would be right on the lake however you cannot see the lake from the house. Also if you are not good with stairs...

"Although my family was visiting LA to bury my child, my experience in this home was a breath of fresh air. This home was Amazing and EXACTLY as listed. The owner was soooo attentive and accommodating. The house was equipped with all the essentials a family would need. I would definitely recommend this home for family travel. "
