Mooie afgelegen woning in Evia
Alexandros was a very good host. Hé answered all our questions and more than that. He told us things to do in the neighbourhood and even arranged the PCR tests for the way back. But the house is too far away from the village , restaurants supermarket , so you need a car. The road to the house is very bad because of the flushes in 2020. Also there where many muskitos. When you go for rest its a very nice place

Relaxing stay in Evia
Our family of 4 had a lovely stay at villas Alilea. The house fits the description and Alexandros and his mother offered a warm welcome. Politika is only 3 minutes away by car with nice tavernas and grocery shops. The private beach was fully (as in fully fully) equipped. We really liked our trips to Dafni too. 100% commendable!

Fantastic!
We enjoyed every minute at the villa. It was clean, well equipped and had breathtaking views and great grounds - especially loved by the children. The location was lovely - we could visit bustling Halkida in 30 mins or the mountainous Steni, or the tranquil Dafni. Myrto was very attentive and kind. Thoroughly recommended!

simply the best
Alilea is a quite and beatifull place where you may descover the part of yourself you lost during the winter time and take all the energies you need in the life. The owners are the best "personal trainers" you can have to let you rest your body and relax your mind. Simply perfect if you look for recharging your batteries. Alessandra and Andrea from Italy

Confortable, calme, bel environnement

Nice quiet place surrounded with olives
We spent a lovely holiday. Friendly hosts and locals. Great choice of taverns with Greek food. Also close enough to visit Athens.

Fantastic Property,
Very well kept property, situated in the middle of an olive grove. Property well maintained and serviced several times a week. Clean and functional. Very peaceful away from the hustle/bustle of city life. Beach is 5 minutes walk from the property. Does require a car to move around to other beaches and shops/village.

A magic place!
It's a very quiet place where you can rest and relax, a magic view of the sea merged with the mountains. In front of the house there's a greensward very beautiful and well care! The house is very clean, welcoming and the hosts are very kindness. Thank you for all!

What a fabulous place to stay
We were so pleased we had found Alilea Villas, it was a well equipped, very clean villa with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Close to a very quiet beach, and within driving distance of Athens for sightseeing, it was an ideal location for us. The owners were very nice, and very helpful. They were invaluable for suggesting places to visit etc. I have no hesitation in recommending the villas to anybody, ideal for families, couples, everybody!

Beautiful, relaxing, delightful. Excellent host.
We loved staying at Alilea Villas, and would love to stay there again. We liked this area of Evvia because it is unspoiled and there were few tourists. The sea was 5 minutes walk from the house. There is a group of 6 houses in a row. The houses are so solidly built that even when the weather is hot they feel cool inside. The solidity also makes for good soundproofing so if you are inside you can't hear anything from outside. Fences of 8-foot tall geraniums separate the houses and those, plus careful arrangement in the building, give a measure of privacy. The spacious area around is beautifully landscaped with olive trees, non-fruiting mulberries and flowers. There is plenty of safe space for children to run around or to play ball games. The houses are not luxurious but they are comfortable, sparklingly clean and have everything you need. There isn't a microwave, but with all the lovely fruit and vegetables available this didn't matter to us. Sitting outside is a delight. Myrto is an excellent host, and can sell you wonderful own-produce olive oil, herbs etc. One evening all the visitors together had souvlaki, salad etc and drinks, provided by Myrto; good quality and only a few euros for the two of us. It could be tricky if you had awful neighbours, but then what would people like that be doing going to remote North-west Evvia? Local beaches make good trips, but you need to be inventive to find places of interest to go to, especially if, like us, you don't want to go to Athens, Delphi or Halkida. The local roads were fine but very twisty, so 25–30 mph was mostly the speed at which we travelled.

Beautiful and friendly
We stayed at Alilea with our two children aged 4 years and 6 months. The facilities for the children were excellent with a lovely clean travel cot with an extra comfy mattress with sheets and blanket supplied, a highchair and plastic cups. There is also a small play area for younger children under the shade of an olive tree and you can watch them from the veranda. The villa itself was lovely, spacious, very clean and well equipped with a lovely large veranda with a large area of grass in front. There is a lovely quiet pebble beach a 5-10 minute walk away with sun loungers and umberellas provided by Alilea. Kiria Myrto was very welcoming and checked daily that everything was ok for us, there was also a souvlaki BBQ held once a week which was really lovely, it really felt more like visiting family.

Unforgettable weeks between the olive trees
The slogan of Alilea Villas is "A way of life." Our family enjoyed and appreciated this way of life for two weeks. The villas are situated beautifully between olive gardens with a view on the North Evian Gulf. There are recling chairs and a large dining table outside. The garden is large enough to play games like badminton and football. Children can play with the toys that are available. The interior of our villa had a cozy atmosphere and everything we needed was available. During our stay, the villa was cleaned regurarly. The beach is very suitable for snorkeling and swimming. We could use the owners' beach chairs, water shoes and parasols. The owners are very friendly and attentive. They are living near the sea at a short distance from the villas. As we are walking enthusiasts, we enjoyed some beautiful walks in the vicinity of Politika, Nerotrivia and Dhafni. Politika has a couple of nice taverns where we enjoyed some fine dinners. Our favorites were Petria, located on the main road towards Nerotrivia, and Aphrodite, located on the beach boulevard. There are a couple of small supermarkets in Politika, which provide almost everything one needs. The location of Politika in Central Evia makes it perfect for exploring the island. We made day trips to Steni, Prokopi, Pili Bay, Chalkida, Eretria, Limni and Loutra. We also visited monasteries, archeological sites and Greek Orthodox churches. Returning from our day trips felt like coming home, not least because of the excellent hosts, Manolis and Myrto. They were always pleased to help us out with anything from taking care of bee stings to tips on how to catch octopusses.

A very relaxing holiday
We had a great time in this very nice, very clean, very comfortable house. The descriptions and pictures match what you'll meet. The houses are very comfortable and the air-conditioning is welcome in the very hot Greek summer. The owners are extremely helpful, and their advice eg on restaurants or places to visit, well worth following. The nearby beaches are pleasant, with clear waters, small pebbles. There are urchins, but if you bring along appropriate shoes they are not a reason to worry (and they're a good indicator of the waters' quality). The owners maintain a rockless, urchinless corridor to the sea anyway. A perfect place for a relaxing, resting holiday.

Peaceful retreat
The Alilea villas have every comfort, and are truly a home away from home. The kitchen was well equipped, and the upstairs bedrooms had comfortable beds, nice views, and lots of closet space. The peaceful setting in the middle of an olive grove makes for a restful stay. Theotokos beach is quite nearby, and Alilea provides a beach umbrella and beach towels on request. A car rental is necessary here. The first night we had some difficulty finding the road back to the villa, but we called Myrto who assisted us in navigating the roads. Thereafter, we had no troubles at all. There are many waterfront tavernas in Politka, the closest village to Alilea. Our favorite taverna, however, was called Petria, located on the main road of the village heading toward Dafni and Nerotrivia. If guests prefer an organized beach, Dafni is a short drive away. I look forward to a future visit to Alilea!

Wonderful Alilea
An excellent property, very attractive building, well equipped, could not have had a warmer or more helpful welcome. Stunning views and the birds and the flowers! Knew the beach was pebble,so did not mind. Good supermarkets, butchers and bakers and cake shop in Politikia. Local eateries not really geared for season ,so choice limited but still great food, totally fresh fish and pleasant hosts. Getting around Evvia means a lot of driving, but its still worthwhile. Rural greece at its best. Could not recommend it more highly

Great hideaway, comfortable villa's, warm welcome!
We so much enjoyed the view from our terrace from the first morning breakfast (a must do!) until the last evening dinner. We stayed in the studio, but also there everything was available for a comfortable stay. 3km walk to the village for daily fresh bread. We liked the visit to Limni but we were especially enchanted by the beautiful nature of the island. Myrto, our host, was incredible friendly and provided us with lots of information about the island. One of the best places in Greece we have stayed.

Undiscovered but well worthy of discovery!
We chose Alilea because we needed somewhere reasonably close to Athens Airport. Before we went I read a book by Sarah Wheeler which describes Evia as "Greece's Undiscovered Island". This was a bit of a worry, exacerbated by the urban sprawl which spread from the airport to within a few miles of Politika. The villas are 200 yards from the beach, and quite a few new houses are being built nearby; weekend houses for Athenians. The villas are beautifully constructed and really comfortable and well equipped. Each has a lawn, which is irrigated and lush green. Beyond is bare earth between the olive trees. We ate all our meals outside on the shaded verandah. There are some spectacular insects (which leave you alone) and some lovely birds. Do take up Myrto's offer of breakfast on the first morning - it kept us going for 2 days. Myrto comes round every day, usually bringing a little present, such as olives, capers or shellfish. She's really committed to ensuring that you have a good time. Her English is really good. The beach is pebbly; there's no sand. Myrto clears a path through the pebbles so that you can get in and out easily. You're swimming in the North Evian Gulf. When there's no wind it's like a millpond, and even to a wimp like me, it felt warm at the end of May. There are lots of fishes to look at. Excellent swimming and snorkelling - but do take beach shoes to protect you from sea urchins. The people in Politika are just... nice. They aren't used to foreigners - we didn't meet a single non-Greek in 12 days - and they're keen to help. In tavernas in the village and on Politika beach, two courses with wine works out at about £10 a head. The food, and the wines, especially the whites, are really good. Fish in tavernas is much pricier. Two oddities - telling you what they've got rather than giving you a menu, and the food arriving in any order as it's cooked. The taverna next to the butcher's in Nerotrivia is particularly good. A mile out of Politika you start to see what a beautiful island Evia is. It's mountainous, and covered in lush green shrubs and trees. There's often a smell of pine, sometimes of thyme. In late May we'd missed most of the flowers, but not all. We particularly enjoyed our visits to Dafni (nice taverna, pronounced Aya) and Sarakiniko on the Aegean coast, where we had a long sandy beach to ourselves. Take Jungle Formula as there are a few mozzies. Alilea is a great place for a quiet, interesting holiday.

Perfect for relaxing and much more
The villas are embedded in olive groves, situated next to the sea, with its wonderful clear water. It is a perfect place for relaxing, discovering Evia, having a nice evening in one of the taverns at Politika, or even a lot of more things you would like to do in you holidays. The studio was perfect – everything which you need in an apartment was available – coffee, sugar, home made jam, oil, vinegar, sunshade for the beach and much more. We really enjoyed our holidays!

ACCOMMODATING AND ATTENTIVE!
In May 2009, my wife, our ten-month-old, and I, stayed in the studio for a week. Our stay was very nice: the price was right, the accommodation was more than adequate, and the owners were very attentive to our needs, going the extra mile to ensure our stay was memorable. The location is good for hanging around, going locally for food and fun in the sun, or making day trips to "man made" attractions, eg. Athens and Delphi. The rides through the mountains - both on Evia Island and the mainland - were gorgeous, and you get the sense that some things haven't changed since Zeus was hidden in Crete! (The only reason I would not rate our stay as "Excellent" is that the location was not as secluded as we would have preferred; but then, our definition of secluded - no sights or sounds indicating civilization - is probably a bit different than many people's.)
