"A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE DUE TO STAFF who go out of their way to try to get into power-struggles with the guests who pay their salaries ! An overrated, expensive hotel that in all areas fails to live up to it's much-hyped status. You can get far nicer hotels with far nicer staff at less than half of the price. A bitter disappointment from what we expected. The charming Andros (at like a 5th of this price) gives you the 5 star home away from home experience that this hotels promises to deliver. So...

"Amazing stay here. Highly recommended. What a wonderful safari experience. There is a massive watering hole at the center of this property that attracts a lot of animals, so aside from the many animal viewing opportunities during the game drives, you can experience a sofa safari by just watching the animals come to the watering hole from the comfort of your villa or from the lounge/dining area."

"Incredible place. We were looked after very well by all staff. We had a fantastic stay. Food is lovely. It's just a chill out place ... one with nature. A must visit when you are travelling to or/and from Kruger National Park. All being well, we shall return."

"The Spier is a lovely vineyard with good accommodation. They are now starting a complete renovation of the hotel and keeping all their staff on as part of the plan . I have always felt completely safe and cared for within the hotel grounds . A wonderful breakfast in the sunshine is the perfect way to start the day . There are many things to do swimming , cycling , walking , visit the hotel vegetable garden and see the birds enroute . I look forward to visiting Spier next year after its...
