"Overall this was a very good stay. You take your shoes off upon entering the hotel. You are not allowed to wear your shoes. You get the traditional vibe. The room was clean. The staff were attentive. Our room did not have a bath tub. If you have tattoos you will NOT be able to use the spa/sauna bath. Which I know Japan is notorious for not allowing tattoos. But I was hoping since so many tourists stay there they would be a little lenient. "

"Very close to bus stops. It’s located in a central location. I enjoyed my stay here. Staff was courteous. They do have a washer and dryers. The bed was comfortable. If I am back in Kyoto this is a nice spot. Also super affordable. There is an awesome bakery close by that the locals love so go check it out . "

"The 5 stars is based on the Expedia value and I arrived after dark. With current exchange I paid $46usd for a standard double room. The property has blemishes but it was a tremendous value (even before exchange). My experience was one night and I didn't soak in the public bath. But the residents appeared to enjoy it. I would definitely look at this property again if I'm in Nagahama."
