"What an unexpected treasure Château de La Ballue. I had booked this stay while touring the Normandy beach landings for just one night. What a shame we were only there for such a brief time. The home is charming and beautiful. The room was perfection and the grounds were such a surprise. I had no idea they were world class manicured gardens complete with a labyrinth! "Booked as a stayover on fishing trip to Brittany. The town is lovely,the hotel and staff were lovely and there are several nice bars/restaurants within a short walk. There is a parking garage under the hotel too so if you have a van full of fishing gear,like us,your car or van can be parked securely. Not sure if you can book a parking space because there are only a few "

"Nice hotel and very clean. Our room was large and nicely decorated. Staff were very pleasant. Evening meal was well cooked and very tasty. Only complaint was the steak was tough but the chef had made the best of what was a poor piece of meat - not his fault. Breakfast was very good."

"Veronique was a great host - nothing seemed to much trouble. Our room was spacious and well laid out. Breakfast in her kitchen (as it was raining) gave us a chance to 'chat' with her good English and our poor French - great fun!"

"From our arrival to our departure, Eric the host, could not have been more helpful. The property is easy to find at the end of a small lane with extensive grounds. Eric had prepared a list of recommended restaurants in the area, which is helpful. The room was quiet and spacious.
