Step into the charm of a 100-year-old vintage hotel, renowned for its rich history and timeless allure. This iconic establishment is a must-visit for any traveler seeking to experience a piece of living history. While the rooms maintain their classic, aged aesthetic, they are meticulously kept, ensuring a clean and authentic stay.

I love that the Opera House exists, and only wish I could win the lottery and donate millions to bring it to its original condition. My only complaint is for the other guests being noisy and easy to hear through the old plaster walls. I Wish guests realized how much voices carry in their rooms. I will continue to stay here - I love its charm!

Strong moldy smell everywhere. Couldn’t stay the night. Dilapidated. It’s old but conditions are unacceptable even for an old property. 15 minutes to get hot water for shower. Staff was nice and they refunded our money.

While the building has seen better days and the accommodations are minimal, this place is the most unique stay I've ever had and is bursting with exciting history, which the helpful staff will share on and off the tour. I'd highly recommend staying here to help keep this place alive, but just be prepared for things to be a little rough around the edges.

Wanting to see stars? This is the place you want to be. Eating is 7 miles up the road. Great tea and coffee ready 7 a.m. It's an old motel with lots of character.

We absolutely loved our stay here, but we came for the experience, not the amenities. If you're looking for modern posh, this isn’t the place for you. If you are wanting a unique experience and the opportunity to spend the night in a historical location, then this is your bag! The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. We paid the small fee for the evening tour and it was wonderful! There are no TVs in the rooms and everything about the place is really, really old which was all part of the experience. We would definitely stay here again!

I have never slept in a dirtier place than this! And the smell is just horrible! Cracked tiles in the bathroom and the toilet wasn't even working! Very ,very bad experience! Not sure how Expedia and other travel agencies work with it because the place is falling apart. Needs some deep cleaning and a fresh paint!

Great concept. Just not quite there yet. Room was clean but had issues. Would do again to support the property- hope remodel continues. Would be a great place to stay if it can be brought up to the basic standards you expect in a 2 or 3 star hotel

The hotel provides only the basics: clean linen, comfortable beds and functioning hot-cold water supply. It charges a price that is about 50% higher than similar grade motels. The building and its environment give people a derelict impression. At first sight I was very unhappy about my choice and the info provided by Hotels.com However after knowing a little bit about the place I come to realize that we are in fact residing in a real ghost town (not just visits to touristic ghost towns). Moreover by staying there we contribute to the conservation work of the 100-year old building which otherwse would get no funding. With this thought in mind, we thought that the 50% more that we paid are good value for money. Afterall visitors to the tough Death Valley should be ready to endure some inconvenience.
