"We booked the hotel the day of the trip as we had change plans due to Typhoon Haishen. When we entrance to the hotel was blocked with a rope and they did not answer the phone. There was noone to get any information, we did not get a cancellation or a notification. We were left in the typhoon with nowhere to go and struggled to find anything for hours during when the weather got really bad. "My only complaint is the road to get to the container villa is so obviously made for a one way but the kurokawa onsen village decided that traffic can struggle to figure out who has the right of way and reverse in the middle of the road… very dangerous but any who.. "It provides a good Japanese hospitality as usual. The buffet breakfast and dinner are good (we shouldn't book them for both nights as we were just too full after the first night). The hotel could invest in renewing some of its facility but it was still a pleasant stay. My only complaint is that the breakfast finishes at 9am which is far too early for European guests."

Very good place to spend a few days.

"The place is awesome. Very roomy and there's an indoor bath as well as a great breakfast and tons of options for dining in the mall. It's a few steps outside of the station so it's amazingly convenient to get to and worth the slightly higher price as it is a very nice and fancy place"

"I love the traditional tatami rooms here. The ‘Bekkan’ is an annex and based in an older building that is charmingly done. It has its own baths, but you have access to the bigger and outdoor baths at the main building a block away. We hadn’t ticked the dinner box when reserving. Dining options in this town may be somewhat limited as most onsen inns serve meals inside. The restaurants fill up. We ordered the dinner when we arrived. It is a bit pricey, but is a all you can eat buffet with Japanese, Chinese and som western options. The drinks are included as well. The rooms were authentic and the baths excellent. This whole town is duper charming and fun to explore. "

"We had a nice stay at Koko hotel. The hotel is conveniently located to transit access and on top of a mall. Walking distance to the castle. Lots of food options and shopping. The room was spacious and quiet. We did not spend much time in the room as we used Kumamoto as a home base for day trips. We would stay here again and recommend to others "
