Nestled on Madrona Way right near Penn Cove, this home is right down the road from Penn Cove Farms and their delicious selection of mussels, clams, and shellfish. Coupeville, meanwhile, lies just three miles to the east, with plenty of restaurants and shops to visit as well as the historic schooner, Suva and charming, Victorian-style neighborhoods. Visit nearby Fort Ebey State Park offering dense forest and sweeping views of the San Juan Islands, perfect for hiking and cycling. And, if you'd like a little change of scenery, the Port Townsend Ferry is only seven miles drive from this home.

Great views but close neighbors make it hard to enjoy
This rental has great views and a large outdoor space. Our family of 4 plus grandparents and a dog enjoyed the house. There were a lot of little things missing in the kitchen so plan on bringing your own if you want to seriously cook. Beds were comfortable, master bedroom is really large. Lots of little quirks but we made it work, especially for how inexpensive this place is. There are also cameras all over the property, especially the patio, so it was creepy to try and enjoy your time outside only to realize you are being recorded. Even though we enjoyed most of our time, we quickly realized that the listing did not mention the neighbor in the RV that is directly next to the patio. I think that area used to be part of this property lot but appears to have been sold of. It wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't for that neighbor coming out and telling us we didn't belong on the beach because they own it. They also have a lot of spray painted lines and logs to delineate their property. Every time we went down the beach they would be outside staring at us and questioning why were out on their property. We were kind, kept our noise down, and kept to ourselves. The neighbor's passive aggressiveness certainly soured our experience and don't plan on returning. Lastly, Vacasa was great and getting us support when we needed it. Just called or texted and they responded right away.

Gorgeous beach house
Wonderful views from the amazing and HUGE deck. We had a great time around the fire pit, and lounging on the deck. The house is clean and beautifully styled. But the A/C didn’t work and the kitchen was NOT fully stocked as advertised. I tried to get help with the A/C, and the vacasa rep was nice, but told me to contact the homeowner, which I had no way of doing. All in all, a very good stay. And the beauty of Penn Cove is worth any small hiccups at the house.

Great getaway house
My family and I stayed here for my birthday weekend in February. Though it wasn't a warm wathered trip, it was amazing! The house is so cozy and in a great location! Close to everything but feels like you're secluded! Yhe coews were spectacular! We will definitely be back!

Great location!
We loved our stay at this property! It was comfortable and close to Coupeville! Our only concern was our lack of ability to contact the property management company in real time in case of any issues. We didn’t end up having any issues but did attempt to communicate with a question with no response until after our stay was over. It was different from our usual experience of having a clear and direct line of communication to a support person.

Great Stay - a few tweaks needed
Overall, this is a REALLY great place! There were a few tweaks/fixes needed which we reported to VACASA, who manages the property. The biggest issue was the basement bedroom. The third bedroom, which is the middle sized of the 3 bedrooms is down a long flight of stairs. The bedroom was quite dark because, again, it is a basement bedroom. Two of us opted out of using that bedroom because of the long flight of quite steep stairs, that did not have any handrail. Luckily, our third friend was young and spry and did not mind the stairs! This would be a really great property to stay at during the summer - fabulous deck and several fire pits - wood and gas. Lovely sunrises!

Gorgeous property
It seemed like they were remodeling some parts and didn’t quite finish painting and some hardware but as long as that doesn’t bother you, this property was awesome. Super close to a great restaurant and like ten minutes from downtown. It was too cold to use the kayaks but I appreciated the option. The views were great and the main bedroom is luxurious.

Beautiful and quiet retreat
Overall, we really enjoyed our weekend getaway at this beautiful home. The home is true to photos and the location is quiet and stunning. Unfortunately, the unit lacked appropriate cleaning, and I had to clean the master bathroom upon arrival. The fuel tanks for the outdoor fire pits were all empty so we weren’t able to use any of those amenities, including the grill. The outdoor firepit was dirty, covered in trash people had left behind. The outdoor cushions were all left out of storage and in the rain, so they were soaked and unusable. There is no where at the property to plug in an EV, so we had to go to town to charge our car. The tub spickets in the master bath are broken and its very hard to get the water running. That being said, the home was comfortable, well decorated, and cozy. We adored reading in the living room and taking in the stunning views.

Great spot!
Gorgeous views and a lovely home. A great place to enjoy a PNW summer. Stayed with our 2 kids and a few friends. It was a full house but with all the outdoor space we had plenty of room. The kayaks were great (fast!) and we spent a bunch of time checking out the sea life at low tide (just steps off the back porch). They also had a smoker, which was an awesome addition. They have all the essentials (including beach towels) and the kitchen was decently equipped (not everything a true chef would need, but it got us through). Management was responsive and helpful. Would certainly return!

My family had a great time at this property on Whidbey island. The house is great, the location was perfect right on the water and just a few minutes from Coupville and Oak Harbor, and check in and check out we’re both a breeze.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. All in all, the property was nice, and mostly well-cared for. But, the cleaning company and maintenance company should probably be fired. Upon entering, it seemed very clean - upper surfaces were spotless, everything arranged very nicely. Bedding and towels were clean. However, after walking on the tile and wood floors for just a couple hours, our feet were black. Seems that the property hasn't been finished in terms of renovation, especially in the master suite - light switch cover missing in master bedroom with exposed wires; a hand-towel rack fell out of the wall in the master bathroom when we simply put a towel on it; one of the drawer handles in the master bath nearly fell out because it was so loose; there was no threshold / transition strip over the kitchen to master suite flooring; all the skylights were unfinished, with exposed metal hanging below the ceiling. We didn't use the dishwasher, as it smelled foul. Which turned out fine, since we literally were given only 4 sets of silverware (and there were 3 of us); we'd have to hand-wash the silverware after every meal anyway. There were many specialty pans (muffin tins, grill pans, a wok, many frying/saute pans), but no small saucepan?? We wanted to heat up some soup one night and had to do it in a large frying pan. Our experience with the management company was not that great. They were a hassle to deal with over changes made to our reservation the SAME DAY we booked it.

Overall really enjoyed the home. Being on the water was amazing. House was very clean and well supplied. Be aware when they say they have security cameras they mean it! They are all over! Really enjoyed my stay and would definitely go back

I discovered the oven didn’t work when I was ready to put dinner in it. There was a full uncooked pizza in there already from another guest. There was long black hair in both bathrooms and in the master bed. No toaster and only large pans to cook with. A child’s swim trunks under the bathroom sink and some brown liquid that had dried in the fridge. The location is great and the property is very peaceful but the cleanliness was not great and the kitchen is not stocked like other places I’ve stayed. We ended up leaving a day early

Nice location but property owners were unresponsive.
This home was in a nice location on the bay and the kayaks were great to use. We did however have a few issues. The home was not stocked as stated. There were no hair dryers in the bathrooms. There was an iron board but it did not have a cover and there was no iron. Also the kitchen had no pot holders, no plastic wrap and no foil. I would expect every home to come with these items. The most disappointing thing was that we has chosen this property over others that were priced less, because of the large entertainment deck with firepits and patio seating. Upon arrival there were no cushions on the patio furniture. After a call to the property management they were told by the home owner that the cushions would be delivered the next day. They were not. Nor were they the next day after another call to the property manager who was told by the home owner once again that they would be. The cushions never made it the entire stay. This was very disrespectful on the home owners part. The property management company VACASA was vey easy to deal with and did what they could for us.

Lovely waterfront stay
Loved the location- took our toddler on the beach every day to look for shells. Watched bald eagles have breakfast on the beach! Short distance to downtown Coupeville for takeout for dinner. Great little house, appears to have been flipped, as some repairs were clearly not professionally done. Definitely considering returning for another weekend!

Waterfront Coupeville rental
Beautiful waterfront three bedroom rental on Penn Cove in Coupeville, Whidby Island, Washington. It has a beautiful modern kitchen and deck. The deck has two gas fired firepits, as well as a wood fire pit on the grass. We were very comfortable here and I would definitely stay again.

Great property and location, few small issues
Had a great time, only a couple small issues. The handle of the backdoor wasn't there/broken. Making it possible to lock yourself out. Also the floor didn't appear to be swept when we checked in. First thing we did when we got there was spent half hour sweeping the floors. Other than. Those two small things the property and views were amazing!

Overall an exceptional experience and visit! Only downfall is that we wished we would have stayed longer. Well equipment from dishes, toiletry, towels, blankets ect. Morning and evenings were simply beautiful with the view that is there. Bonfires were such a hit for smores with the kids. Certainly looking forward to our next visit here!

Beautiful location and great home layout!
We enjoyed the dog-friendly house a lot. The beds were comfy, the giant deck welcoming and the huge master bath shower was a treat. It’s on a quiet stretch of road with lovely waterfront views. We enjoyed watching the Whidbey NAS jets on training flights overhead and exploring nearby Coupeville. For 5 people staying 3 nights I wish there would have been more laundry/dishwasher soap/toilet paper/kitchen cleaning products provided.

Cute house
The house was cute, very clean. However, the moment we opened the door there was a very strong smell of some sort of seafood like clams that had maybe been cooked the day before. It wasn’t from the outdoors as it wasn’t low tide and that smell wasn’t outside. We went noseblind to it after a few minutes but every time we left and then came back it hit us as soon as we opened the door.

A Great Little Home in Penn Cove-Dog Friendly!
My mother in law was in town and we ended up taking her to this VRBO home on Whidbey Island as a weekend trip to celebrate her birthday and bring our dog as it is dog-friendly. This home is situated close by Penn Cove and also a lagoon. It is clean with fantastic view in a quiet area. It's not too far from Coupeville if you're looking for a place to eat and shop. The house is hard to find if you're going there during the darker hours. There should be better signage to be able to locate the house since it's situated by a road where there is not a lot of lighting. My only other complaint is that the kitchen could be better equipped like other VRBO's with basic essentials for cooking such as salt/pepper-Aluminum foil, etc.
