As the second city of Argentina, Córdoba contains a large share of the country’s historic and cultural sights. Having explored the cultural cornerstones of the city, make your way to the scenic villages, such as La Cumbre, Huerta Grande and the lakeside Villa Carlos Paz. To the southwest of Córdoba is Alta Gracia, where you will find the Museum of Che GuevaraOpens in a new window.

Another intriguing destination is Capilla del Monte with its Cerro Uritorco Trailhead. Many believe UFOs landed on this mountain, which you can learn about in one of the museums and shops in the quaint village.

Note that locals are called Cordobesas and are known across the country for their singsong accents. Expect hot and humid summers November through March and mild to cold winters depending on altitude.

Find the city in the shadow of the Sierra Chicas mountains in the central part of the country. A coach ride here can take up to 9 hours from Buenos Aires, which is 435 miles (700 kilometers) to the southeast. Fly direct to Córdoba Airport.
