Atour is friendly and warm. The reception offers you tea at your arrival, when you're sitting at the reading corner, or anytime you approach them, waiting for something.
The twin bed room was neat and nicely designed with electric sockets that include USB options - I didn't have to unpack my adapter at all. Everything is where they should be, and if you can't find them, simply call the reception and they'll point them out for you.
One thing though - the toilet is separate from the shower and sink, and the two sections share one sliding door - that means only one door can be closed at the same time. The separation also made it inconvenient for people on their periods (who may need to rush to the toilet after the shower).
With all the lovely food in Chengdu, you will be delighted to know the staff makes sure you can order food but not worry about safety, since they will help take your order at the reception then deliver to your room.
Checkout time is 2pm, very friendly and makes enough time for morning excursions even on the last day. When you say goodbye, the reception offers a bottle of water - they are just that sweet.
Roomy, elegant, considerate design that keeps you in awe from day one to day au revoir - one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at.
