"When I read other reviews, thought they must be exaggerated or fake, but this place really is everything others say. Absolutely beautiful property. Warm, friendly caring staff. Loved the private flight experience to and from SJO. Waterfall hike tour. A little more challenging than we were first led to expect, but we made it, LOVED it! Casitas beautiful. Huge! Spa and fitness and pools all excellent, big, new. Only minor criticisms: Fitness centre equipment a little limited. No leg machines....

"The Barcelo is always beautiful and reliably great! The staff is friendly and efficient. I only stay a night or two but do so often. It is a great place to stop after flying in and before shuttling out to someplace further afield. "
