Crystal clear water, golden sand and numerous amenities perfect for a day in the sun help Cambrils’ most famous attraction live up to its reputation.

Once you see Cambrils Beach, you’ll understand why thousands of vacationers come to Catalonia. Technically two beaches, Playa de Regueral and Playa Plat d’en Forès, this city beach is popular with locals and tourists. It is located a convenient distance from the town center and amenities. Load up a beach bag and come down to the water ready for a day out. Once you put your feet in the soft beach sand, you may not want to leave.

Splash around in the calm, shallow waters that are perfect for children or less experienced swimmers. Hit a ball around with locals in the on-site volleyball courts or arrange a water skiing excursion to glide over the sea. Rent a bike in town and cycle the extensive bike path, which leads all the way along the beach to the nearby town of Salou. Relax on a sun bed, perfect for enhancing your tan or just watching the water lap gently up against the sand.

Observe the hubbub on the beach, which in summer can get crowded with vacationers eager to relax in the sunshine. Rinse off sunscreen and sand in the showers at the end of the day as people begin to prepare for the town’s nightlife. Cool off with a glass of icy sangria from one of the beachside bars or put on a sarong and feast on fresh seafood at a nearby restaurant. Be prepared to use Spanish or body language to order, as most restaurants do not have English menus. Stroll along the palm-lined esplanade and revel in the atmosphere of this sun-soaked town.

Cambrils Beach is easy to find, next to the port and Cambrils’ town center. Walk here in 20 minutes from the main train station or 10 minutes from the town center. Check with your hotel to see if it offers shuttle service. Metered parking is available in an underground car park near the port. Nearby streets also have some parking. The beach is open all day and lifeguards are on duty during posted hours, with presence later in the day during summer.
