The cabins arent the greatest. Yes they were pretty clean (its hard to keep something so close to the ocean clean), but big old noisy aircons, and some lights didnt work, and the floor lino was quite cracked in places, and sometimes you would step on a part of floor that seemed unstable and you would sink a bit, and the water was quite brown, so we bought cartons of water to drink. Unfortunately we had 2 days of rain on arrival so we spent quite a bit of time inside and on the balcony, but for the days of sunshine it was beautiful so close to the beach and outside was always neat and tidy. If you mainly spend time on the beach or in the pool or exploring, its a great quiet little spot, and so we were able to get over the little issues inside. If you are just staying in the area one night and passing through, its probably not worth the cost, as its pretty comparable to a hotel in palm cove, but if you want a few days of beach time, it is really lovely.
Unfortunately the bar and grill restaurant across the road (the only food venue IN Ellis Beach) is currently shut for dinner, and closing completely on the 8th January for a month at least, so food either needs to be cooked by yourself, or head to palm cove up the road.
