"Marie is a warm and inviting host, nothing appears to be too much trouble. Our room was spacious with an outdoor seating & patio area. The guest house is on the edge of town and so we used a cab service when heading out for dinner in the evening. Marie organised and booked(very cheap and nice driver) She also recommended 2 restaurants where the food was very good. "Very nice, but the night before we were to arrive we were told the swimming pool was not functioning. Bearing in mind the one day was in the mid thirties, this was disappointing. Our room had an artisan working all day, on both sides of us. One night I had to ask him to stop hammering on our walls at 8 o' clock at night. The hotel staff and very nice and considerate. management need to up their game."

"We stayed one night at the Oakdene Guest House and wished we had stayed for two nights. The owners, Sonia and Daniel, were very welcoming and couldn’t have done anymore for us. Sonia cooks her own bread and cakes for guests. The smell and taste of both was fantastic. There is a swimming pool at the end of the long garden which was a great spot to unwind after a long drive. Beautiful game lodge

"Beautiful lodge on a big lake. Nyala wandering around the tents, noisy birds at night. We could see hippos in the lake and deer the other side. Fun trip to see the meerkats - we had to be patient, but six of the eventually appeared. Nice to see Springbok and Gnus too "
