The water is often calm and flat, with occasional waves that provide good surfing conditions. Rent an umbrella and relax with a book on a deck chair in these stunning surroundings. Seaweed and other marine vegetation adorn parts of this remote beach. Hike through the tropical forest behind the strand.
Bring your family to this clean and safe sandy haven, which is usually patrolled by lifeguards during the day. Many of your fellow vacationers are likely to be employees and visitors from the nearby nuclear center. The beach actually lies within the nuclear plant’s complex, which also includes a school and other family amenities.
Take a break for lunch at the small restaurant and dine on fish specialties. Purchase snacks and supplies from the kiosk. Remain on the beach for the spectacular sunset. Stay overnight at one of the hostels and inns at the back of the sandy bay.
Brava Beach flanks its namesake village on one of the many bends of the state of Rio de Janeiro’s stunning Atlantic Coast. Rent a car and drive along the coast from Angra dos Reis for 25 miles (40 kilometers) to arrive at the beach in less than 1 hour. Make sure to see other landmarks in the region, including the Ilha Grande landmass, Secret Beach and the Centro Nuclear Almirante Álvaro Alberto.
