Great Location
We enjoyed our stay, we especially loved the river in the backyard. The weather was chilly and windy, so we didn’t spend much time near the river but it was great scenery. The location was convenient to Banner Elk and Blowing Rock. Around 5 to 6 miles to each. We spent some time in the hot tub over looking the river. It was a great trip. My kids didn’t want to leave.

Stay in Alamo River House
This is a fantastic property. Location is wonderful and the river in the back yard really makes the experience. It is an older home without some of the most advanced modern services, but that was exactly what we were looking for. I will stay here again on my next visit.

great spot for a mountain getaway
My wife and kids enjoyed this cabin. Between the rustic vibe, the river, the rocks in the backyard (great for climbing!), and the hot tub, it was the perfect home base for a Blue Ridge Mountain trip. As an added bonus, it's conveniently located near Boone, Blowing Rock, Sugar Mountain, Grandfather Mountain, etc. Highly recommend!

Just okay for the money
This was slightly more rustic than depicted. Old linens, minimal hot water and an over grown yard were not what I was expecting . The fenced in area for my dog was pretty small and was predominantly a giant slab of rock with tons of leaves and vines. It was lovely to be near the water, I really enjoyed hearing it while sitting on the back porch.

Family vacation
Such a cute house with an amazing back porch view, just listening to the sound of the flowing water outback was enough relaxation to make the rental worth it!! I even washing dishes to that view and my 4 year old ended up taking kitchen sink baths because she loved looking out the window at the flowing creek. Beautiful home!

Our stay at the Alamo River House was perfect! We enjoyed several local attractions-the Alpine Coaster and The Apple Hill Llama farm. The house was perfect for our needs and exactly as described. The Owners have made renovations to modernize the house while still keeping it's "old house," charm.
