My partner and I spent a few nights in the private room with en suite bathroom. The room itself was clean and met our needs. The staff were friendly and helpful with tips and recommendations for what to do around town.
With respect to location, we really enjoyed the area - it felt safe, clean, and was a good jumping point for getting around the city. The hostel itself had a well stocked kitchen that was also clean and we used this often for making breakfast or coffee. The backyard patio was a nice touch and we used it often for a morning read or an evening cocktail.
The hostel atmosphere was quite low-key, perhaps a bit to much for our taste. We are not night owls or heavy party animals by any stretch, but the hostel itself often felt vacant. Perhaps this was because of the time of year/week we were there, but generally most hostels I've had the chance to stay in have felt a bit more up beat and social any time of the week. Additionally, there was a sort-of curfew time of ~11 pm, where basically the place shut down completely - lights were turned off and everyone was requested to go to our rooms. Again, not the end of the world, but there were a few nights where we were hoping a slightly more energized evening atmosphere where we could enjoy some drinks and meet other guests before heading out for the night.
Overall, a solid hostel experience that I would recommend to anyone.
