We had an issue with our room upon check in and the team at the hotel checked on us multiple times to ensure that everything was ok. "Mixed.At all times remind yourself that this is a 3* hotel! When you squint your eyes, the setting fools you into thinking you're at a far fancier establishment. This messes with your expectations. Positive first- The island is beautiful. The views are spectacular. Breakfast is good. Boat to Rovinj is regular and on time. Negative - 1. Accessibility is poor. Lift doesn't stop at the lobby. 2. Rooms are large and clean - but old. Peeling paint, broken fittings and 1980's furnishings all show...

"Loved our stay at the hotel. Service was excellent. Clean, modern room. It is within walking distance to restaurants and the Old Town. Convenient parking. We had a GPS in the car to help find the hotel. Not easy to find street names. Check in and out is not at the hotel so make sure you are able to call Avora management at their number. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend. 😊"

"There is no reception, so you have to arrange check in ahead of time. We failed to do this, but Rosa was very helpful. The unit was just right for our stay. Equipped kitchen, dining area, bedroom. Great AC, grocery store very close by, lots of dining options and tour operators in the area. "

"I cannot recommend this hotel more highly. I wanted to stay in Piran but choose this hotel initially for two reasons: (a) it was walking distance along a promenade to Piran and offered free parking; and (b) it would be staying in a slice of history as the form of the hotel (though not the renovated interiors) harked back to the more brutalist days of the Yugoslav Republic. Then I got there - the staff were unfailingly lovely; the room was big (after several days of tiny rooms); each room has an expansive sea view; the breakfast was out of this world; and it was a beautiful promenade in front of the hotel along the sea. It was really a singular experience and one of the reasons that Piran was a highlight of the trip. My mother (70 yo) felt very poorly on the last night of the trip and was quite ill during the night. As we didn't have to leave to go to the airport until 4pm, I requested a late-check out. Not only did they give my mother the room until 4pm, but they didn't accept extra payment for the additional time in the room. Honestly I can't recommend this hotel more highly!"

"Apartments are part of hotel. facilities very good and there looks to be an excellent kids club. walking distance to Porec or use the land train for a variety of restaurants and bars to suit everyone. we found all the staff, from reception to cleaning and maintenance, are very friendly and professional and happy to help On the down side, while the apartments are very clean and acceptable inside, the fabric of the buildings is very poor and needs a complete overhall. Our apartment B6 had rotten wood on the bottom of the door which was turning into a hole - not good! All in all an enjoyable break"
