The elevator is quite small and slower than grass growing. But the rest of the hotel is great, particularly if you like privacy and quiet spaces. Their cafe is sort of dead, but it's not a huge deal. Front desk staff is friendly yet not so helpful when asking for small favors like early checins, late checkouts or upgrades.

Paying tribute to an honorary mayor and the first owner of the adjacent hotel, Beverly Hills’ earliest public garden is also known for the arrest of George Michael.

This amazing dessert was served in a fishbowl, just like the other five courses. Inside was a crème Chiboust with sour red current jelly, almond praline, rice crackers and orange blossom bubbles. Topping it off was a disc of shaved ice infused with redwood stems. Pretty imaginative and incredible tasty.
