"This was probably the weirdest hotel experience in my life. The huge manor has been converted to a hotel but has been neglected recently (including a time housing asylum seekers - Google it). The time around 10 of the 100+ rooms are being used so you “rattle around” especially when you’re the only guests!! "Never again! When I arrived they had no record of my booking, even though I showed them the booking confirmation. After almost an hour they agreed to give me a room. When we were in the room it was freezing, it was -2 in the room, we tried the heating but it didn’t work. Asked reception to move us but they said they didn’t have any other rooms made up. We left at 6am because we couldn’t stand the cold."
