If you don’t mind walking about 10-15 minutes, you can get to some of the main streets with lots of shopping and restaurants, and even to the main plaza (Hauptplatz). No on-site staff, but responsive to emails. Minor issues: There’s a washer in the room (with no instructions for its use), but no dryer. There’s also no microwave, which would have made things very nice. I had to go out and buy a non-slip...

"Our stay was perfect! Our kids (8,6 and 4) had a blast with all the animals - Guinea pigs, bunnies, new kittens. Anita was a fantastic hostess. She always had suggestions for us of things to do in the area. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. It was such a relaxing and lovely place. A fantastic swing on the top of the hillside, a pool overlooking the valley. They even built a fire for us one night. The history of the house is amazing. "Die Wohnung ist ein Kleinod in einer sehr schönen Altstadt in Österreich. Der Kontakt zum Vermieter ging schnell und unkompliziert und war freundschaftlich herzlich. Die Tipps rund um Steyr waren viel Wert und aufgrund der sehr zentralen Lage (man kann alles zu Fuss unternehmen), ist es für Menschen welche Cafés, gutes Essen in einer schönen Kulisse mögen der perfekte Aussichtspunkt. "Hotel Wolfinger is an elegant old hotel that has been upgraded. It is beautiful. The room was huge with windows that looked onto the square. The bed (called a double) was more like a king size bed and there was a couch in the room as well as a desk. The bathroom and toilet were separate which offers convenience. The location was great. Easy walking to everything. Beds were comfortable and breakfast was a great huge buffet with all the delicious European treats-- every kind of bread, rolls, cereals, cheeses, salamis/meats, yogurt, etc etc, and of course every kind of coffee or tea. Absolutely lovely! "

"Great experience. The staff was fun, resourceful and adaptable. Not sure of the history but the hotel is on the main square. Not hard to reach via Google Maps. Looks old from the outside. ?building new or heavily renovated. In any case the hotel extends over several other storefronts. Everything inside seems new. Huge underground parking that extends under the square in front/Hauptplatz Had a suite with great views and multiple outside Hotel stored our luggage for a few hours as we toured town after checkout."
