"Mara Major Camp is the perfect place to stay for an authentic Kenyan safari experience. The lodge staff are local Maasai that truly make the place special. We were the only guests at the camp because we stayed at the beginning of the rainy/off season and they were so attentive to us, taking care of all our needs. "The staff are beyond friendly. We enjoyed our fireside riddles and laughed a lot with some of the staff. Our camel ride out to the camp with guide Mohammed was stellar. There was a stop for the sunset and some local berbere men shared their sand board with us so we could play on the dunes. The only thing I'd change about the entire experience is the dinner. "Really spacious tent for four and very well equipped (except no can opener !). Massive bathroom and great catering bbq pack and potatoes salad. Only drawback was no soap or shampoo. Excellent burger in the restaurant. "

"Hwange was wonderful. The lodge is on the more rustic side, but it is super nice. The beds are comfortable. Everything is clean. The showers can be temperamental, but there is plenty of hot water (my brother struggled with the shower in their room and to be fair, the showers did a bit of alternating between hot and cold occasionally). The only complaint might be that the walls are thin. But our group took up the whole section where we were so we weren’t bothering anyone else and no one else...
