Location is not great. While it's just across the road from Shimonoseki strait coastline, access to the shoreline is very limited by industrial areas. Also very limited dining options, outside the hotel's onsite dining room."

"Generally speaking, this hotel is very aged. For example, my Japanese toilet did not work. It flushed, but did not wash. The carpets are very worn, and entry is on the second floor, by stairs so carrying luggage is a chore. I did not have breakfast so no comment. Usual material supplied in the room was not (tooth brush, tooth paste, tea, etc.). Not recommended for seniors with mobility issues."

"Excellent. Room was great - modern, clean and a bit bigger than most rooms have found in Japan for the price. We reckoned it was the best place we stayed all trip and we stayed in some considerably pricier joints. Staff were accommodating to requests - pleasant and professional. The place has a cool vibe between hotel and hostel - it has both types of rooming - lots of great social spaces. Nice rooftop garden and cafe downstairs and computer/chill area on 2nd floor. "The staff is friendly and helpful. They have luggage transfer service, taqbin, to my next hotel (with a charge). When requested, they helped me to ask the other hotel if they can receive my luggage ahead of my check in. Their check in/out is also very foreigner friendly. You use a machine which can display in japanese english, chinese and korean to check in/out (with the staff help)"
