There's a well maintained water trail running along the South River, where you can also do kayaking, canoeing, fishing, and wading. Skyline Drive and the entrance to the Shenandoah National Park are only nine minutes away, providing access to many great hikes that lead to beautiful vistas and waterfalls. Waynesboro is also centrally located along the Shenandoah Beerwerks Trail and the Shenandoah Valley Wine Trail, which are a series of breweries and wineries that run along 81. Stable Craft Brewing and Barren Ridge Vineyards are both part of the trails and about 15 minutes away. Staunton is twenty minutes away, with its beautiful, historic downtown, great restaurants, many different music festivals and events, and the Blackfriars Shakespeare theatre. Charlottesville is a half hour away, the opposite direction down 64 east. Wintergreen Resort is also only about a half hour away, with many different activities including skiing, tubing, golf, swimming, a spa, and a kids adventure center.
