This hotel is very nice and the larger rooms are well appointed. Staff is nice, but have almost no training or understanding of hospitality management. This is true in the restaurant and front office. Staff missed multiple opportunities to go above the regular service requirement, and were missing key skills that would have enhanced our experience. I’m not sure if this is a training gap or that staff have not been enabled to properly serve customers. The hotel and restaurant were empty when we stayed and staffing levels were high. Expected more based on price. This hotel had a long ways to go to earn a higher rating. HZ University is around the corner and they have excellent tourism and hospitality programs. Perhaps an opportunity for this establishment?
