"Never been to Watford (from US) but took a chance. Turned out to be an amazing place. Cool old UK pub and above, modern chic rooms. Ann Maria was the bartender and hotel host and she was outstanding and a hoot. She treated us like family from the moment she met us. Sean the manager treated us the exact same way. "The room was larger than I thought and very clean. The ensuite was very good with excellent water pressure in the shower. The staff were very helpful and although the tills were closed in the bar they still served us night caps. I gave a 4 star for comfort because their pillows were so high they unbearably uncomfortable, but the problem was very quickly rectified. The breakfast was exceptionally good and very generous. Wed definitely stay there again."

Spacious Art Deco family house near St Albans. sleeps 10, free parking garden.

"We had a good stay at this property for the Christmas holiday. Easy check in, with free parking. Communication with the host was good, was able to accommodate our extra needs. We had some difficulty unlocking the bedroom door after locking ourselves in. Had some difficulty with the cooker and oven but communication with the host had everything resolved and got our Christmas dinner cooking perfectly. Property could’ve been a bit cleaner in areas but overall a good stay and everyone enjoyed this space"

Great stopover

"My Room, was clean comfortable and welcoming. Had a good night's sleep in a comfortable bed. Food in the bar (Indian) was among the best I've had, service quick and friendly. A good stay. Just as a note the rooms are up steep stairs at the back of the pub which wouldn't be suitable for anyone with a mobility issue"

St Albans Stylish Suite With Kitchenette

"Well appointed, cosy apartment in London Colney. I stayed on my own, which was fine, however with two people it would have been a bit too cosy! I noted there was a shared kitchen facility although I had no need to use this. I had a few small niggles with the apartment (e.g. no nightstands, no bedside light, ill-fitting toilet seat, no terrestrial tv) however these were minor and overall I enjoyed staying here. Also reasonably good value for money, given the price of hotels in the area."

Pleasant Family Stay

"Ideal for our young family of four, particularly useful for us as we wanted to visit London but not be in the city and wanted to enjoy a more green space/playgrounds etc. which St Albans has. Easy access to transport (bus/train) for London days, can walk or bus to the supermarket (rec. Morrisons) and nice local restaurants/pubs available. Would prefer if the sofa bed was made up for our arrival as we are a party of four and needed both beds, but additional linen was on hand so no trouble to sort out. Would happily recommend and stay again. Thank you to the owners for being so welcoming and helpful during our stay."
