My husband was retiring and I wanted to plan a memorable retirement celebration for him. I invited 9 other friends and family to stay with us, all of whom love to play board games and that's what we did, almost non-stop. November is between summer and winter season so there weren't a lot of people around, very quiet and peaceful.
The house has an unusual layouts, with small, rather dark bedrooms on the bottom floor, but the upstairs is lovely which is where we spent most of our time.
Whoever did the decorating did a wonderful job.
While not enough to ding on stars, this could be improved - figuring out which outdoor door to use was confusing and there is no doorbell. When one knocks on the door, it can't be heard from the upstairs, so instruct everyone coming beforehand to call or just walk in.
Also you walk in on the bedroom floor and must climb stairs to reach the living area. Not a problem for most, just keep in mind if someone in your party has difficulty with stairs.
Overall everyone in our group had a fabulous time staying here.
