"We had a lovely stay. Room is basic but fine for what we needed. Beds are comfy but pillows not so much, 2 pillows for each person would be better. Sofa could do with a little clean. Facilities are good, breakfast was good and staff are friendly. Both times we have stayed here we have had to wait for are rooms to be ready, perhaps the hotel need to look to change their 2pm check in time that they state. But overall we had a lovely stay and will definitely come back to stay again soon. "

"Only here for one night. Rooms a good size comfy bed and dead quiet and dark to sleep in. The foods good 2 good sizes pools and right across the road for the beach. We just got the local bus here €1.40 3 stops from airport if goes to terminal 2 Would stay again perfect for what we needed "

"WE emailed when booking as my wife was a wheel chair user they offered an up grade when we arrived but kept the room we booked our fault we should have followed up our email. The staff where very nice. Breakfast something for every one."

"In a great quiet location but only a few minutes walk down to the main avenue which then gives access to restaurants and bars in either direction. Complex is well kept with decent number of beds around the pool. Standard apartment on the ground floor which was perfectly adequate(1st floor apartments have been refurbished I believe)and cleaners were very good. Spar supermarket less then five minutes walk. "

My only criticism would be that our balcony looked at a white wall and had no sun all day and was beside the laundry station . "The property we had was ideal straight out the door to the pool. Was well equipped. Only downfall was the shower. And only had our bedding changed once in 10 days. But staff were lovely and very helpful will definitely be back"

Summary of hotel Riu Paraiso

"Hotel was overall very good, all inclusive choice of food was excellent, alcohol choices were extremely poor. I would normally stay in H10 and it doesn't really compare to be honest. At H10 you get a choice of a bottle of water or glass of wine with your dinner. Here you only got a small glass of water. Room was very clean and air conditioning was also very efficient, hotel overall was well manicured which makes for a very pleasant experience. Shower size and pressure was excellent, there seemed to be a slight glitch in that occasionally where the shower water would get very hot quite quickly without having touched the regulator (Room 326). Hotel location is very good approx 4km from the port in Puerto del Carmen and something similar to the airport runway. The beach to the front of the hotel is an excellent beach and reasonably safe. Overall we really enjoyed our stay, hotel is designed to make it feel like each room is an apartment and when you leave the room you get a feeling of being outside immediately which is quite nice and takes away the claustrophobic feel of hotel corridors. Entertainment was also very good taking into account it is a holiday hotel, a lot of the performers seemed to be from Bulgaria and we really enjoyed the shows they put on and you could tell there was a lot of effort put in with limited stage and equipment to probably work with so they deserve a lot of credit. Overall its a good hotel and we enjoyed our stay."

Definitely recommend!!!

"Fabulous apartments! Cleanest one we’ve stayed in over the years! The free bottle of water was a lovely touch, and the iron, nespresso machine were unexpected too!! We were given the soap and sponges to wash up our dishes with which was great as we were only there for a few nights. We had a front area and rear garden almost, with 2 sunbeds, a parasol and an egg chair. The room was so spacious and the air con was fab. The pool was heated which was great & helping yourselves to sunbeds was ideal too! Can get busy by the pool with people reserving sunbeds but this wasn’t too much of an issue for us. Staff were very friendly, location was fabulous. Half way up the hill but not a long walk, and if you go the back streets the incline isn’t noticeable. Didn’t try the food but heard it was lovely. Overall 10/10, fabulous place to stay and will be returning."

"First time at the Ilunion Costa Sal and we were not let down. The hotel is excellent, clean and well maintained. The room was clean and functional for our stay. We found the food to be excellent with a good choice for both breakfast and evening meal. The hotel team are great and couldn’t do enough for us. Well located in Matagorda with a great range of cafe’s, bars and restaurants within a ten minute walk. There are a couple of supermarkets close by and a small shop on site. The pool area is immaculate and never too busy, with no subbed hogging. The hotel is ten minutes from the airport and about 30 minutes walk from Puerto del Carmen. A great hotel, in an excellent location. We will definitely be back."
