We loved our stay, and the kitchen was stocked with every dish and cooking need you could think of. However, the color scheme in the living area was beige and white... with such a cute little place, some color is desperately needed to enhance the cabin's charm. Paint the walls something other than white to make the paneled walls pop, and some pillows and throws other than white would work wonders against the beige sofa. Some small improvements could be made to update the kitchen and bathroom. The paint on the garage and in the bathroom was peeling, and there wasn't even a bath mat. The headboard in the master bedroom was missing its spindles. All the furniture appeared to be from second-hand shops and painted white. But on the positive side, there is great potential for this property. The landscaping was lovely with beautiful hydrangeas and freshly planted mums. The location is magnificent with the lake directly across the street. And the morning walks I took! South Shore Rd. is loaded with scenery and charming homes, and there is very little traffic. Everyone that drove by waved (which left me pleasantly surprised!). Suttons Bay is a quaint little town with nice shops and restaurants. The cabin just needs to come into the 21st century appearance-wise. Overall, however, the place was clean, comfortable and cozy. I would happily come back again, but I think next time it will be in the summer to take advantage of the beaches.
