This is my second time staying with these wonderful hosts. I stayed in their other cabin a few years ago and immediately fell in love with this property and the area in general. It's got a little of everything: mountains, valleys, open fields, forests, a stream, lots of room to walk and hike. This cabin is incredibly cozy, and I loved that the kitchen, living area, bathroom, and bedroom, were just steps from each other - so convenient! I ate all my meals on the beautiful deck overlooking the fields, admiring the sunshine as it lit up the hills. Walking down the lane at sunset is so peaceful and tranquil, and if you're lucky you'll spy some deer in the fields! I lucked out with perfect, sunny weather the whole time, but if you're stuck indoors, the cabin has a well-stocked kitchen, books, games, and super-comfy couches!
The town of Strasburg is about 20 minutes away and has everything you need; grocery store, pharmacy, gas, etc. Exploring the back roads through the hills is so much fun! I drove west into WV one afternoon and was thrilled that the road took me right up into the mountains with amazing views. The WV town of Wardensville is right there at the bottom of the mountain, ready to explore.
I love the no-contact check-in and out procedures, too. My trips are meant for solitude and quiet, so the less contact with other humans, the happier I am! The hosts were very responsive when needed and always incredibly polite and courteous. Definitely will return again!
