A charming atmospheric home in the heart of the 'Cornish Alps' - the perfect rural getaway. Ideally placed for exploring Cornwall: equidistant (~20min drive) between the beautiful vast sandy beaches and dramatic scenery of the North coast (Watergate Bay, Crantock, Bedruthan steps, Porthcothan) and the cosy villages and quite waters of the South coast (Mevagissey, Charlestown, Roseland Peninsula).
When tired of exploring, enjoy our peaceful green garden and indoor entertainment.
The Space
The house is spread out and rooms are generally big and bright. It has a cosy feel throughout and several nice areas to relax. We have a music collection as well as dvds and games you can dip into. A pool table is also freely available and a piano. WiFi is fast and we have 2 TVs (one 55’) and a lovely indoor fireplace.
Note! This is a family home and not suitable for big parties. To confirm your booking please tell us about yourself and your group so we can ensure that our home is suitable for your needs.
Up to 2 well behaved dogs are welcome but please do:
- be careful that livestock on adjacent fields are not chased
- clean up after your dog
Bedrooms: 3 bona fide bedrooms, 1 with a super king bed, 2 with king beds + 1 bedroom/TV room with a double sofa bed.
The hot-tub is wood-fired and takes a little work, but is gorgeous and very tranquil. If you want to use, we can instruct. You’ll have to buy your own wood (from all local petrol stations etc).
The Neighbourhood
The house is set in idyllic rural Cornwall and dates back to the early 18th century. Adjacent fields are home to cows and horses. It is peaceful and quiet with birdsong aplenty. It is a lovely holiday house with space to spread out and relax.
Getting around
Very well placed for exploring Cornwall. Easy 20 min drive to either coast as well as to the cathedral city of Truro, 15 min to the Eden Project.
Good connections in general:
- 5 minutes to the A30
- 15 minutes to Newquay Airport (London Gatwick 1hr)
- 20 minutes to Bodmin Parkway Railway (3hr45 to London Paddington)
