Lovely short stay in Devon
Very nice and comfortable stay with a generous welcome hamper. Visitors must be fine with driving on the narrow Devon roads to get there.

Devon Farm Holiday
Had a great time at the property and surrounding location.
A little bit out of the way in the countryside but a really quiet location if you want to get away from it all.
Property was entirely as described and the welcome hamper was delicious ( worth going for the homemade cake alone)
Had a great time.

Four day family break
The property was in a very rural setting which we really liked, the farm animals came to the fence to greet us as we arrived. The accommodation was fabulous.

Appledore Barn
Three generations stayed here and all loved it. My 5 year old grandson was amazed at the “upside down” house. It was very clean and had everything we needed. Location was good for getting around. Very peaceful. The basket of goodies we received on arrival was lovely. Would definitely stay here again.

A lovely home from home
We had a lovely stay at this comfortable barn conversion. The rooms were spacious, the beds were comfy, the kitchen was well equipped, and the bathrooms were well appointed. The farm was very charming and the surrounding area had plenty of interesting places to visit. The welcome hamper was fantastic and we also enjoyed some delicious home-cooked meals that we had arranged for Adele to provide. We hope to come back again sometime.

A gem
Everything about this property is perfect. Location, sunsets, home cooked meals waiting in the fridge after a long day, breakfast welcome basket and prosecco, pretty sheep and funny pigs at our door. Adele and Richard are great hosts and their property beautiful. Sad to leave

Welcome pack on arrival was much better than expected and a lovely surprise.

Beautiful batn
Really lovely and clean property but it is right out of the way. We loved staying for our long weekend and they have thought of everything but this is too remote for us to do a repeat visit. Do not let put you off though as it is very peaceful and a gorgeous property

Excellent quality, clean, superb location and high quantity equipment
Superb holiday. Welcome pack was fantastic. R writhing for the most amazing breakfast. Better than any hotel ! Quiet small holding with friendly animals and rolling hills beyond. Owners exceptionally on the ball and communication 10/10.
Adele cooks the most amazing food. We ordered ahead her chicken curry off her extensive menu (including veggie ) and it was excellent value. We will be back.

Family break October 2020
We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay in Appledore barn. Everything was great; from the booking process to our arrival. The Welcome Hamper was great, especially as we arrived late in the evening!
The children enjoyed the nature walk with Robin and being able to walk freely around the farm looking at the animals.
The barn itself was spotless with an amazing log burner and plenty of equipment in the kitchen. I don’t think we could fault it.
I would recommend Appledore Barn to any family looking for high quality accommodation surrounded by beautiful countryside.

Peaceful tranquillity with stunning views of the countryside.
Really enjoyed our stay at this lovely barn conversion. Really well equipped with everything you would expect and need for a stay. Adele is really lovely and helpful and offers meals on site if required. The welcome hamper was also extremely appreciated. There is an onsite farm shop as well so plenty of opportunity to stack up if running short of anything.
Would definitely stay again if were in the area in the future. All in all a place that I would highly reccomend to anyone.

Wonderful location, high quality accommodation and very warm reception.
From the moment we arrived to a generous and delicious welcome hamper to the final meal we had at the Castle Inn, this was a fantastic holiday. We only have praise for the high quality of accommodation and the ‘nothing is too much’ attitude of Adele.
We highly recommend this property if you want a beautiful and secluded part of Devon to relax in.

Beautiful location & very friendly owners
We stayed in Appledore cottage for 5 nights. We absolutely loved the cottage, it was so cosy, beautifully furnished and so well equipped. Adele & Richard really have thought of everything.
We took the advantage of Adele’s cooking, and we weren’t disappointed. We thouroughly enjoyed homemade chicken curry & Eton mess cheesecake was to die for.
The location of the cottages is set on top of a hill with lovely views.
We ventured out every day. The nearby village of George Nympton has a really good pub , Castle Hill, where we stopped for a gorgeous Sunday roast.
There are many walking and cycling routes nearby and we have tried few of them.
We would recommend Lorna Doone Valley walk, that starts at County gate car park (EX35 6NQ) which takes about 5 miles but it is so picturesque. It will take you through coastal path, through fields and through the small Oare village , that was mentioned in a book Lorna Doone by RD Blackmore . There is also Cloud Farm where you can stop off for wonderful homemade scones with jam and Devon cream, and there is a Lorna Doone well stocked gift shop.
We will definitely come back to explore more of Exmoor .
Thank you Adele & Richard for a wonderful stay at your cottage.
