Private Beach Cottage

Peaceful and affordable accommodation with 360 degree views straight from your kitchen, bedroom and living room to the ocean and country side. This is the second of 3 cottages on the property made from recycled materials. We have tried to used as much second hand, upcyled or recycled stuff as possible to save it going to the tip.
About a 20 min walk to your very own beach this stretch of coast is well known for great fishing and surfing. Or you can just sit and listen to waves roll in. You can bring along you best friend if they can handle no fences and love the ocean. This self contained cottage has everything you need for a relaxing break.

This is a truly magical place, and I thoroughly enjoyed staying in Cottage 2 with my dog for two nights. It was wonderful to be able to walk through the dunes which are fully vegetated to the beach. I could see and hear the ocean while sitting in front of the cottage watching the amazing sunsets. I particularly liked the owners approach of using recycled and repurposed material as much as possible and to work towards a zero waste approach. It was a very enjoyable stay for me and I will be coming back! Thank you.

We loved our stay here, out of the rush of the city but close enough for convenience to both geraldton and dongara. A short walk to a secluded beach, our doggo loved it! Ian (the host) is very helpful, top bloke 👍 plus our cabin had a great view of the ocean and sunsets. Would stay here again

The cabin is simple and clean with all the amenities that you would need. Very peaceful location and good base to see the surrounding areas, including the history of Greenough and the sights of Geraldton and Dongara. We had a couple of minor hiccups, but the owner was easy to talk to and they got sorted quickly

This is a secluded very quiet spot, so peaceful. Host was responsive and a pleasure to deal with. We had our 2 dogs with us and were able to walk them everywhere - very pleasant.

Unexpected Gem

Really enjoyed our stay at Ecostays. Fantastic ocean, and sunset views from Cabin 2. Walk to the beach was pretty vigorous, but worth it. Wind is to be expected anywhere along this coast, so swimming isnt always great. We didn't beach fish, but looks like a good spot. Dogs loved the freedom of the beach. Overall, a really enjoyable spot. Would definitely stay again.

Character cottage

Interesting character cottage, perched high up in remote area with sea and land views when you eventually locate it. Has all you need except that the gas wasn't working so neither was the cooker and the hot water. Enjoyable experience overall.

Doggo accomodation

Ian was lovely, Ecostay was true to the name, with trying to get to zero waste. Dogs loved it, albeit it was grass seed season so we had a quick emergency visit to a local groomer to clip the groodle right back short. Thankfully Jo's Paw Parlour is a neighbour and came to the rescue at short notice! I would not recommend taking the beach sign route from cabin 2 - it took us a long way round, instead I recommend taking the main road to cabin 3 and jumping on the beach trail from there. Thanks for a pleasant stay!

Great location but a bit basic

The host was excellent, we could not make our booked date, he had availability for our 1 night stay and allowed us to arrive 2 days later than booked with no additional charge. We had difficulty finding the property we had all the instructions which were very clear but there is no phone signal so we could not access them. The lack of phone signal and WiFi is a concern if there was an medical emergency. The property is a converted static caravan, unfortunately its all a bit tired especially the outside. The glass bottle dividing wall shown in the photos has gone. The other concern is water, with rain water for drinking. It is adequate accommodation in a remote location with stunning views. Could be so much better without much effort or cost.
