I rented this cabin for after Christmas hoping for a bit of snow and I got my wish. While we were there a very unusual storm dropped about two and a half feet of it.
First, the property:
The cabin is nice with large windows and a spacious great room with a large dinning table. There is plenty of room to stretch out, do a puzzle, play twister or find a nook and read a book. The kitchen was well equipped with most of the usual items you would need to make a meal and a nice cup of coffee. There is a washer and dryer onsite which was nice for handling snow drenched items, and there was plenty of wood for the wood burning stove. The master bedroom is on the ground floor next to the kitchen. Note that there is only one bathroom in the cabin, so larger groups would have to stagger their showers accordingly. We had no issue there.
Upstairs has a twin bed with a twin trundle bed in their own nook and a queen sized bed on the opposite side of the house. There is no door between these bed areas nor between the upstairs and downstairs. This was not an issue for us but bear it in mind if you have noisy guests with you. There is also a desk upstairs if you wanted to do some work. There is no cell service there but phones will work over the internet.
The one thing I would say here is that the spiral stairs are rather narrow. My father, who is not a small man, never went upstairs due to how narrow they were. I would warn anyone who has a mobile impairment or who has very wide shoulders that the stairs could be challenging.
The neighborhood:
The cabin is in a very quite neighborhood. The neighbor that we did meet was very friendly and helpful.
The management:
The owners were very communicative and helpful, answering texts, helping us keep an eye on the storm, and working hard to make sure our stay was a good one.
The storm:
The drive up there took twice as long as we expected. Once the storm caught up with us we had to slow down significantly. Overnight the power went down for three entire counties due to the crazy snow fall. Despite that we were able to have a good time (sans showers since the hot water heater is electric) using the wood stove to heat the cabin and cooking on a stove that we brought with us since the cabin stove was electric.
Overall:
It is a very nice cabin in a nice location. Would I go back? In a heartbeat. I would avoid snow storms however, unless you are very prepared.
