Horrible experience. This host should be removed from VRBO. He did not respond to multiple messages left requesting the access code to the property.
We traveled to Seattle for the weekend, had the property reserved and paid in full. After leaving multiple messages via the VRBO app, text messages, and phone call, I received a text message from him that he cancelled my reservation AFTER the scheduled check-in time (after we had already traveled to the city) and would not provide the access code for the door to the property. He claimed to have canceled the booking a day prior, but I provided a screenshot of the reservation that showed it was still reserved for me that evening, he still refused to honor the booking.
VRBO customer service was of no help. The 24/7 customer support it advertises only means they have a call center available 24/7, not that it does any good, they did not provide any assistance other than an assurance I could get a refund "in 5-7 business days", and "sorry for the inconvenience". Inconvenience is an understatement. The city was booked for all VRBO properties at that point, hotels full, and the customer support rep that I spoke with promised to call back ASAP to help find a resolution, but NEVER CALLED BACK...not even an email or text.
The entire experience was horrendous, leaving me and my wife, along with our children, without a booking or reservation for the weekend. Sleeping in our car was not how we planned to spend our vacation.
