First the bad bits, our room was very confined and hot as hades. Even on a cold day, the room was unbearably hot, and took 2 days with a fan on, and windows open to get it liveable. With the windows open (4th floor) cooking smells from the kitchens permeated the room. These rooms are in desperate need of air con.
The good, public areas are very good, especially the dining and breakfast rooms. Breakfast was epic, with choices I have never seen at any hotel anywhere. E.g. Smoked Haddock and poached egg, crumpets scrambled egg and salmon, boiled eggs with soldiers. Brilliant and with great table, not buffet service. On the basis of breakfast alone I would stay here again, but only if they can sort the room overheating out.
