I take some responsibility for assuming this property would meet and exceed expectations based on past reviews. It met all the criteria for our stay, which included, 4 bedrooms with at least one downstairs for my mother, pet friendly, and located in the vicinity of a particular wedding venue which was attended by 2 of our family members. This in mind, options were in short supply. Positive aspects were the property is very pet friendly, with a nice large fenced yard and older furniture in the living spaces which could not be damaged, as it was all very worn and scratched from time and other animals. There were indeed 4 bedrooms and we slept well, and all were relatively comfortable. The kitchen was equipped for cooking and included plenty of seasonings, ice maker, and refrigerator space. We also appreciated the central location to the wedding venue, and downtown Savannah. The locks and thermostat worked well.
Cleanliness, and decor were most lacking although the bedrooms were a bit happier and put together. I would not recommend this home to anyone traveling with physical needs. The furniture as mentioned is quite dated, with tired cushions, and limited seating options. My mother did not join us in the end, which was a blessing as she is recovering from knee surgery and wouldn't have had a footstool to elevate her leg, and definitely would not have been able to get up into the beds which were all quite high off the ground. I believe I saw a futon mattress on top of one of the mattresses. I'm assuming the host was adding newer padding to older mattresses. While we appreciated the nice supply of games, cards, and books in the living room, it was unfortunately offered up on a very cluttered and dusty table, and the books and game boxes were also quite dusty. The kitchen also does not have a conventional oven and stove top although a portable double cook top is available, and a counter top convection oven.
If you need a roof over your heads and you have dogs, and can overlook a good amount of the owner and/or previous renters' personal items in cabinets and drawers and closets, this is not a terrible option.
In the end, the photos oversold, but the home underdelivered.
