The staff was just lovely, however I will say I think we had a fluke night in tayrona. The park itself is a bit remote, difficult to get out there and few places have electricity. We booked two nights because of the glowing review s. Unfortunately, it was a very very hot evening, about 87 F in the day, and it only went down to 82 at night. It was unbearably hot to sleep, without any AC or a fan. We couldn't make to stay another night. The next day however, it was considerably already cooler. The hostess seemed to notice it was difficult for some people to sleep as she asked us in the morning about our rest. I poured over the reviews of this pace, and was shocked not one mentioned the lack of AC. I don't think this is a usual temperature, but unfortunately for our stay it was impossible. The accommodations were clean, however, the doors did not thoroughly close. We had about a 3 inch cocaroach in our room before dinner, and an inch and a half spider, that looked poisonous after dinner. We stuffed towels under the door and hoped nothing else would get in at night. The shower was not warm, but the temperature was welcomed given the heat. The dinner was lovely, prepared fresh that day. Id suggest bringing lots of cash for the national park. Easy public transportation for about USD $1. we just lost our last night and booked a hotel by the airport.
