Get sick, get Ghosted
I got sick, woke up with 104 fever 4 days before my stay and had to go to the hospital. I messaged the host to advise him immediately that I missed my flight and had to cancel hoping to get a voucher or reschedule. I never heard anything. Then a day prior someone from the resort who represents him asked me how my stay was, at which time I reiterated that I was not even in the country, didn’t make it on my trip, and I advise that representative that had messaged the host. The respond I got was, per policy there’s no refund. Of course. That’s a typical response for someone who’s happy to just accept funds and wait for another renter to come along, easy money. The distance between them and I as I also own rental property and my goal isn’t just to get a payment. It’s 100% satisfaction and longevity through repeat business and referrals, but not everyone works like that.
