So the good, it was priced reasonable if below was not the case, otherwise a rip off.
* poor communication day of check-in. Hadn’t received any communication like you normally get for check-in. Contacted host by phone and explained that we had not received anything and check-in was in 30 minutes. He immediately became argumentative and started to blame me and saying no one has ever had a problem before. I told him I am not here to argue with you I just want the directions. He said he would send them and hung up and sure enough they showed up.
* Now the property- it is a very old building next to a heavily travelled freeway and super busy road so a lot of road noise.
* The cleanness of the apartment was probably a 5 out of 10. My wife and I ended up having to mop and vacuum the floors to feel comfortable walking without shoes. It took going over the floors twice to not have a black mop head from all the dirt and grime.
* Refrigerator was super dirty with caked on stuff on the shelves and other parts. It was obvious it hadn’t been cleaned in a long while. I took some photos and sent to the host so he was aware in case he used a cleaning company. I simply wanted to inform him and didn’t ask for a credit or anything else. Again just he immediately became argumentative and first denied even seeing the problem I described in the photos. Then when I pointed them out subsequently, he simply replied “there is Lysol and paper towels”. I decided to have no further interaction.
