Get close to a fearsome alligator or a majestic jaguar. Marvel at the ocelots, spider monkeys and red wolves. Walk around the picturesque grounds and enjoy views of Beaver Dam Creek. The nearest large city to Salisbury is Baltimore, which lies about 110 miles (177 kilometers) northwest. October is a particularly good time to visit Salisbury when Pemberton Historical Park hosts two of the city’s major events. Sample dozens of craft beers as you enjoy live music and home brewing demonstrations at the Good Beer Festival. Wine lovers are catered to on another weekend during the Autumn Wine Festival.
