This was our fourth trip to Rome and we will absolutely book this apartment when we return. Check in was completely stress free because we had Angelo, our host, arrange for pick up at the airport, so our driver handed us off to him and he was there when the car pulled up.
The apartment is historic and charming, and carefully restored. The kitchen and bath are modest but functional. Plenty of hot water. We didn’t cook at all, because we were in the heart of historic Rome.
In any direction there were shops and restaurants. Our very first night, we arrived late and exhausted, so we just went downstairs to the wine bar. We had wonderful tapas there and incredible wine.
We are not young, and my husband is not big on walking. So when I say it’s an easy walk to the major sites, believe it! Campo Di Fiori, Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, Castillo di St Angelo, the Vatican. Even Trevi Fountain.
The apartment was close enough to come home for a rest and go back out. Or for my husband to take a nap while I went exploring.
The wine bar downstairs is very popular, and with good reason. The street was silent by midnight and the sounds wafting up were people have conversations, no music or loud noises. So we were not disturbed by it. In fact I found it comforting.
Angelo also arranged our ride back to the airport, and was very kind and communicative during our stay.
