The house had EVERYTHING we needed, the house is much better in person, it was the perfect house in the perfect location for having the “lake house experience” with boats, boards, kayaks etc. walk to boat rental few blocks, store right down the street in case you forgot something - they literally sold anything you could need for your stay Very clean, no issues at all

This was a lovely cottage with a great location. The dock out back was great and so convenient for our boat that we brought with us. The water toys provided were put to good use. Across the road was direct access to walk out to the famous sandbar. The cottage was clean and comfortable. The new grill was great for cooking and the fire pit near the water was awesome. Minor issues include 1 parking spot directly in front of the cottage and due to the heavy traffic on Crystal Beach Rd, it is hard to get in/out without getting flipped off by drivers speeding by. Also, the property listed a dishwasher but we didn't find one. The bedrooms are both upstairs and the stairs are a little narrow but navigable with care. Last, the toilet is a small round RV size toilet upstairs. If you're 6' 6" tall, it presents a challenge. However, overall, these are very minor issues. Being near this beautiful lake and on the river, with a boat dock far exceeds any of these issues. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend.

Parking is an issue

The house was great and the location was excellent. Parking on the other hand isnt the greatest. Our pick up barely fit in the driveway and there was no where to park our boat trailer. The public parking by the house doesnt allow overnight parking. We were told that the township will have it towed if you leave vehicles overnight.

No washer/dryer

It’s stated that a washer is an amenity on this property. It’s not. I asked for more towels and no one ever brought them. Great location to enjoy the outdoors. Could walk across street to beach entrance for torch lake. All and all would stay there again definitely. My family and I had a blast. Crystal clear water

Based on the listing photos, I expected it to be similar, if not exactly the same. The day of our check-in I was notified that we could arrive sooner than expected because everything was "ready." When we arrived, we did not understand where to park which was easily remedied by calling the number provided. We walked into the house and it was clean and prepared for our stay. However, when we walked out back, the grass was about 5 inches high, the grill cover was thrown in the yard with a puddle of water accumulated in it and there were no chairs outside to sit in (besides the ones around the table on the porch). There was also a paper towel box thrown to the side that looked like it had been there for quite some time. I went into the garage to see if there was a lawnmower and it looked like a dump. There were kayaks and other trash (along with a million spiders and spider webs) thrown about. I expect when I'm told a property is ready, that it's actually ready for us to use instead of doing yard work. The team was very responsive and did have the lawn taken care of the next day (after I used a weedwacker to mow it down partially). There were a few other issues (AC units, fuses blown, kayak with a hole), but the team was responsive and we're problems solvers so we managed. It was more frustrating that anything. Overall the location was worth it.

Excellent water access

Very nice, updated property. The home met all of our needs and we enjoyed the access to the water. There was an issue with the heat and property manager and owner acted immediately and remained in constant contact with us which we really appreciated. I recommend more pictures and decorations throughout to give the house a homier vibe. We would stay again.

Friends trip

Lov d location with private beach and dock and use of kayak and paddle board. Only comment is step into house in front is too high for us. Another step is needed. Enjoyed ourselves! Thank you!

Great location for kayaking both the Torch river and Torch lake. The house is compact, modern, clean, and perfect for a couple looking for a long weekend or extended stay vacation.

Perfect Torch Lake Getaway

Property is in the perfect location -- bayou (and dock) in the backyard and public beach lake access directly across the street. Even better, this property is less than 1/4 mile from my husband's family cottage from his childhood. Property manager was very responsive. It was a great vacation.

Pet Friendly rental between Torch River and Torch Lake

Nice older two bedroom/one bathroom cottage in nice location near (within 25 minutes) of most anything you would want to get to. Many other cool attractions/beaches/parks/restaurants within one hour. Rental was clean and had linens, towels, fully furnished with essentials. Also, has a paddle boat (but you will need a few people to get it in and out of the water, several kayaks with oars and life jackets; also a couple inner tubes. As stated, there is room for "one car"; that is pretty accurate. We had a pickup truck and made it work, but one vehicle is all this property can hold. The house is pretty close to the street. There is public access (parking) to Torch River right beside the house and across the street to Torch Lake, but you might get a ticket if you park there overnight....

Paddling Stay

The house was clean and location was great. My husband and i brought our kayaks. It was nice to have access to the river from the back yard and an easy paddle to torch lake. The sandy beach access across ths road toTorch Lake was nice for swimming. Small grocery and restaurant down the road were handy.

Great owner but can make the experience better

Bad bug problem, sheets for beds were clean but the bathroom had spider webs everywhere especially a big collection right above the toilet that must have been missed multiple cleaning times. Dirty shower curtain. Really bad fly and bug problem, every time we opened or closed the door we had 10 to 20+ flys on the ceiling. The ac unit above the main bed has black mold pumping out onto the pillows. Walls have holes, felt more like a frat house rental. Tried vacuuming said bugs and then the breaker went out, electricity seemed weak in the house. Outside chairs and deck would have been nice to use but covered in a bunch of stuff. Was not relaxing because of these reasons. The owner was nice and the location. For the price we were really bummed on the experience overall.

Perfect! Location is everything.

I went with 2 other women on a girls trip. Prior to going I reached out to see how many kayaks were on site available to use, and was told 3. (We would have brought our own If there wasn’t enough for all 3 of us to go. Anyway- I messaged the property manager & within a few hours she had bought a brand new kayak & dropped it off at the house. We were very impressed & very much appreciative. The house is great. Good size for a small family or group of friends. River access our back & lake access our front. Stores within walking distance. We will def return & will be staying in the same house if possible. Thanks for a great experience Cara & staff.

Very clean and comfortable.

Great time staying at this house. River out back with kayak launch next to the house. Can also access Torch Lake across the street at another public access. House has 3 kayaks and a paddle boat to use. Will definitely rent again. Everything was super clean and nicely updated. Walking distance to local restaurant also.

Fall get away

We liked the property overall. The issues we had were the very busy road, immediately in front of the house. We didn't get to enjoy the water, but that was due to weather, not at all because there were any issues with the amenities, which all seemed to be in place as advertised.

Very peaceful and relaxing.

The place was very conveniently located to the lake and river. The beach access was wonderful.. it is not a very touristy area, which was great. The amenities were awesome. Only thing I have to say bad was the hot water was horrible. Not enough for one shower let alone 2 in a row.. Will definitely be back for a longer stay next year.
